Guys guys lets just get along! Back to Jonas i'm anxious to see this kid play, GLS description of him shutting down Caron Butler in crunch time has me on Jonas's bandwagon!

Great video! I've not paid much attention to this Swede, but based from his highlight reels, I see a lot of AK-47, and Josh Smith in him. The Swedish Thunder he truly is!!!

Solid game by Jerebko tonight, despite the Pistons losing 107-96 to Houston:

15 points (6-12 FG's, 0-3 3pt's, 3-3 FT's)
6 rebounds
2 assists
2 steals

Jerebko had a perfect night, going 9-9 shooting for 20 points and also adding 7 rebounds.

He also made the rookie all-star game.

Not bad for a mid 2nd round pick.

Jerebko is probably the biggest steal of the draft. It's nice to see him putting up decent numbers so early in his career.

Sounds like a real winner, athlete, and all around badass.
I remember he did well against my Memphis Grizzlies.
His stats look great and I remembered him having a good feel
for the game. Yeah like a Rodman type who I contend was an incredible
player who should not only be in the HOF but is very underrated. He wasn't "sexy" like Jordan
but he got it done. He could defend all five positions and also handle the ball.

Jerebko should study Rodman's game then he could be the best rebounders and defenders in the league. What's better is that Jerebko looks like a much better athlete. Rodman was a good athlete and a quick
jumper but I think Jerebko is a better athlete. Looks like Jerebko
can score too; he just has lots of guys on his team that like to shoot too much.

I can't wait to see him in the rookie game. That is where efficient talent stands out. The best players shine. Inefficient ball hogs get exposed.

Funny how 4 European and/or Jewish players make the Rookie game but no American whites do. Are there no Gallinaris or Gasols or Caspis or Jerbkos here or are they just not being developed?

White Americans just don't get the same opportunities.

Pistol Pete, the number of white American players in the NBA has dwindled greatly in the past 15 years. In the early 90's I'm pretty sure that around 20% of the league was white Americans. You had guys like Chris Mullin, Stockton, Hornacek, Bird, and Majerle. You also had a few Europeans mixed in. Since then it has gone to about 10 % American whites. That is significantly worse than even the racist NFL. The only positive thing is that the other 10% has been replaced by mostly European whites. In today's NBA we are lucky if 2 or maybe 3 American players get drafted in the first round. Pretty pathetic stuff!

JJ had 8 reb in the 1st quarter, and 12 total in the first half. Unfortunately he got into foul trouble and only played 21 minutes. Jerebko could have easily gotten 20 rebounds. He keeps getting better.Edited by: Fightingtowin

I completely agree with you about him watching tapes of Rodman defend and rebound because I think he can be that kind of player. He does have Ben Wallace to learn from and you can see how he already is picking up some of his tricks, such as tipping the ball out to a teammate when you can't fully secure a rebound. In an interview Jerebko said Wallace has been his main mentor, and the only thing Wallace is going to teach him about is defense and rebounding (and probably weight lifting)...Jerebko is already a better scorer of course and improving quickly.Edited by: Fightingtowin

He scored 21 points in 21 minutes last night, 13 points being in the first quarter. Ironically--considering he is a mid 2nd round pick--he played so few minutes because the game turned into a blow out so the good players sat on the bench while guys like Kwame Brown and Chris Wilcox got garbage time.

I think it's official; he's the steal of the draft.

Jonas Jerebko has been named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month, the NBA announced today.

Among Eastern Conference rookies in February, Jerebko ranked first in field goal percentage (.564) and second in points (10.2), rebounds (6.0), steals (1.0) and blocks (0.54) per game.

Jerebko, who played in the rookie-sophomore game at All-Star weekend in Dallas last month, is averaging 8.9 points and 5.5 rebounds for the season.

Jerebko worked out with strength and conditioning coach Arnie Kander on Monday after spraining his left ankle Saturday night in a loss to the Golden State Warriors. He is probable for the Pistons' game Tuesday night against Boston.

Darren Collison of the New Orleans Hornets is the Western Conference rookie award winner for February.

JJ followed his Rookie of the Month award with two double doubles: 16 points and 10 rebounds and 15 points and 13 rebounds.

I guess he's in the lead for March too.

I watched the Knicks-Pistons game last night. Jerebko looked pretty good and he hustles a lot on the glass. It's great to see a second round player put up solid numbers night in and night out.

Last month Jerebko got Eastern Conference rookie of the Month while averaging 10.2 ppg, 6.0 rpg and 1 spg. He's currently avg. 11.5 ppg, 7.7 rpg and 1.7 spg for March. His coach said today that he believes he should make the All Rookie team too.

He had a good game last night in Detroit's win over Charlotte.
