Scheyer is currently in very bad medical condition. He is suffering from Infectious Mononucleosis as well as impaired vision due to severe trauma to his left optic nerve. He had surgery on his left eye in July 2010 after playing in only 2 summer league games.

Considering how often NBA guards suffer from eye injuries (RARE) and how severe the injury was, I believe he might have been hit in the eye deliberately. He also suffers from Infectious Mono which causes from severe fatigue lasting from several months to the rest of the patient's life.

While it's very debilitating for anyone , it is obviously even more so for a pro athlete. Since Duke won the NCAA title , Scheyer has been unable to work out a fraction of the time necessary for an undrafted rookie free agent to be competitive in an NBA preseason camp.

The nitwit racists on the Clipper web site used every common racist description on Scheyer while ignoring his obvious medical condition. When I objected to the racist comments ,several, DWFs or Negroes called me a racist. I don't mind being called the R word. Everyone knows who are the most racist people in the US :Negroes.

If any NBA player had to deal with these 3 conditions they would not be functioning at even 25% of their potential. If Scheyer weren't melanin challenged, he would have been drafted in the First round and allowed to recover from Mono and the severe injury to his eye. It annoys me to see players whom Scheyer outplayed in the NCAA tournament having guaranteed contracts . Scheyer probably should not have pushed himself but he had no choice.
He is truly a double caste member: white , and he played for Duke.

When he recovers, he should go play in Europe. The money would probably be better for him anyway, and he would possibly enjoy himself more.

He'll make a ton in Israel, as a member of the Tribe. Think there's already a standing offer for him.

Europe or Israel will be good for Scheyer. Better that he enjoy consistent playing time, as oppose to FOREVER sitting on the bench of the racist and bias league that is the NBA. My best regards to Scheyer.

Scheyer was screwed from the beginning. Despite a nice career at Duke he was said to be too slow and unathletic to play the shooting guard position and not good enough of a ball handler to play the point.
