This lad is one of the best prospects you've put up here Martel. Carrigan obviously has the look of a well schooled amateur. Yet, lo, he only fought 73 amateur fights, and achieved this!
John Joe, if you read this, this is my take at this point in your career: you have the frame of a Hearns, with some punch too, and will have the same chin that type of frame has and the liability it carries. No big deal though; you're just no GGG. So stick to hitting and moving and never ever fall in love with your punch -or else. And you can never work hard enough and improve your foot work and foot speed enough because that's what will keep you out of trouble and keep your opponents' always looking for you. It's not the foot that leads the step but the hip; and, when you master that you'll figure out how Loma and Pacquiao did it; so swing swing swing with your hips I don't mean arms. We'll be watching you.
