John Daly Sues Florida Paper for Libel

Sounds to me like this writer, probably a self-hating white, went way over the line. Maybe it'll send a message to the many white writers who continually try to "make equal" this country's epidemic of criminality by black athletes to the occasional mis-steps, bad judgments, and usually minor crimes committedby white athletes.

Covering New York sports hasn't been all fun and games lately

Mike Freeman, an African-American sports columnist for The New
York Times, believes the Big Apple is infested with jealous, sexist,
bigoted sportswriters with barely a whisper of talent.
"Sports is the least policed beat in journalism," Freeman said.
NEW YORK Sports columnist Mike Freeman lost his job at The Indianapolis Star before it even started by lying on his resume about being a college graduate. Is it possible Freeman's former employer, The New York Times, would bring him back to his old sportswriting post?<BR clear=none>

I read the article. He called Daly a "thug". Yeah that's the first thing you think of when you look at Daly with his rolly-polly build and his blonde pageboy haircut, some thug. He looks more like Dennis the Menace to me.

Bart,sounds like itcould well be the same Mike Freeman. Seems like a real lovely piece of work doesn't he? If it is him, he'll undoubtedly still be able to find a sportswriting gig somewhere no matter how long of a record he builds up of crying racism, lying on his resume, getting sued for libel, etc.

Good for Daly.Its about time some of these white athletes stand up for themselves.

Everyone loves John Daly, including the Caste System, which likes nothing better than the occasional dysfunctional white athlete who isthe exception to the epidemic of dysfunctional black athletesbut who is gleefully included to provide the proper PC racial balance whena givenproblem (crime, drugs, gambling) is discussed.


In his new autobiography, Daly claims to have lost between $50 and $60 million gambling over the past 12 years. Congratulations, John, whenever sports and gambling is the topic, you'll be the system's cover boy for the next25 years. Michael Jordan was said to have bet a quarter million dollars on rounds of golf and was (and probably still is) a frequent high roller at casinos, but besides a few tsk tsks he was given a pass. John Daly won't be.
