Carlson may have a prominent role in the Seattle offense as a rookie. The Seahawks have had terrible TEs in recent years, most notably Jerramy Stevens, who dropped more passes than he caught.

That's good news for Carlson when a caste ass-clown like Holmgren even praises him. Lucky for Carlson that he's a TE because white WR's go to die in Seahawk land.

I wish this guy the best of luck -- nay, the simple chance to play and thrive without the racist scrutiny that accompanies all white athletes in team sports, but I still have my doubts.

This scenario will play out in one of two agonizingly predictable patterns.

One -- the Seahawks succeed, where in which case Carlson's contribution will be underplayed, all the more so because he is white and will be humble when discussing his role on the team with the media.

Two -- the Seahawks fail, where in which case the media will blame as much of the failure on Carlson -- and the scapegoat white quarterback -- as possible so that people will forget football is a team sport and the black players contribute to defeats also.

0-1 Seattle plays 0-1 San Francisco this coming Sunday

I hope Carlson does very well.

If Carlson can reach 700 yards, that would be fantastic.

He would need to average 61 yards per game over his last 4 games in order to achieve that.

if Hasselback stayed healthy i am pretty sure that Carlson could have had more than 6-700 yards easily. he is such a good, mature receiver with good speed and instincts. yet another great white TE for us to enjoy in the seasons to come.

Most of the top tight ends in the game are now white. We have Dallas Clark, Jason Witten, Carlson, Jeremy Shockey, Owen Daniels, Zach Miller, and Heath Miller.

Fasano and Olsen are pretty good also.

Olsen is very good and has 4.5 speed. Another tight end who is getting screwed is Tony Scheffler. He also has 4.5 speed but isn't being used as much under Mcloser's offense.

Haha, great game by Tony Scheffler tonight. Even John Gruden was foaming at the mouth about how athletic Scheffler is and how he had basically taken over the game in the 2nd half.

Don't forget Brent Celek! He's Philadelphia's leading receiver, and 50% of their white starters at the same time!

Love the guy! Too bad i can't stand the rest of the team. But there's a good chance he will be in Philly for years to come. Kolb to Celek is a combo I will be interested to see in the future!

Another talented white tight end is being underutilized.

The Seahawks started Sunday's game in a two-tight end set, but John Carlson was not on the field for the first snap.
<div ="s_pNewsTextMain">
Cam Morrah and Chris Baker started. The Seahawks never announced a
lineup change, but Carlson hasn't appeared to be a favorite of the Pete
Carroll coaching staff all season. For Morrah and Baker's parts, the
former is a more explosive pass catcher than Carlson, and the latter a
superior in-line blocker.

yeah i caught that as well on roto. WTF... Carlson is as complete of a TE in the league as any, and plenty athletic to boot!

I haven't watched the Seahawks much, but if they can't make Carlson an integral part of their offense they either suffer from terrible execution or bad game planning. Seattle has maybe the worst group of receivers in the league -- but wouldn't sign Northwest native Mike Hass even under threat of torture -- so using Carlsonso little is more evidence, as if any more were needed, that the Peter Principle applies to Pete Carroll every time he leaves the college ranks for the NFL. The Seahawks are as uninspiring and dreary as the skies in Seattle. Not to mention those depressing dark gray /pigeon puke uniforms they wear.

John Carlson signs with the vikings. 5 years for 25 million.

"That being said, the Vikings obviously still need a No. 1 receiver."

Hey Vikes, I hear there's an excellent receiver (size, speed, strength, coordination) named Riley Cooper who's currently wasting away in Philly. He's also a very tough competitor who isn't afraid to mix it up on the field with the DB's trying to defend him and off the field he's a good role model. However, there is a caveat...he's White, so he doesn't have the unlimited "upside". But look at it this way, you can probably get him at a bargain-basement price (or cheap trade.) So what's there to lose?

I think Riley Cooper would be a perfect fit for New England.
And they are the type of team to dig up under-valued talent.
