The always much maligned Joe Flacco yesterday merely became the first NFL quarterback ever to lead his team to a playoff win in each of his first five seasons in the league. :thumb:

and most regular season wins by a QB in his first five seasons: 54. (respect to Flacco & the Ravens as a whole).
but, sports talk & product endorsements will continue to focus on the young QBs watching the playoffs from home (Wilson & RG3). dumb

I think Flacco gets maligned because he came from a small school and Baltomore really has been known for their defense the last decade or so. The man will never get any love from the media or from even the sober fans I imagine. I would hope when he becomes a free-agent he would find a team that needs a natural leader to go with that cannon arm.
Weenieworld continues to promote the lie that quarterback is a position of weakness in the NFL, when it is a position of strength, certainly deeper and all-around better than any of the black dominated positions on offense and defense, even going to the extreme of calling it "barren."

"He's now made a case for $20 million a year," Clayton said on SportsCenter Monday. "And I think he's gonna try to hold to that. Last season what I was hearing was he was asking for about $17 million. ... (We'll) see if he can get over Drew Brees' contract. I think he can." Mortensen agrees that an annual $20 million is "not unreachable" for the Ravens' quarterback. It would be a ludicrous sum of money for a player with Flacco's solid but unspectacular regular-season résumé, but his dominating postseason and barren state of the QB position around the league have left him with leverage to spare. If Flacco is intent on playing $20 million hardball, the Ravens may opt to slap him with the $14.642 million franchise tag.

..yeah, I'm rooting for Flacco (this weekend), and for his career. I think his long-ball skills make him one of the most valuable players in the league.
In the trendy hysterics surrounding mobile black quarterbacks, the sports media has a case of amnesia for the long bomb. It's still the home run of the sport, it still gets fans on their feet in mid-play.. its still the play kids in the backyard, dream about pulling off.

Which is why i would hate to face the ravens
if they make the playoffs. Flacco is almost like eli manning in the sense they tend to lift their game in the playoffs.
