Trump will do things to disappoint, but then he’ll do something like this and totally redeem himself. People like us on the Nationalist Right have been raising awareness about the SA genocide for decades and in a week or less Trump just blew the issue up bigger than we ever hoped. The attention is crazy. As much as I try, I can’t not like Trump. Truly a one of a kind force of nature.

I appreciate that he does things his way and says to hell with politics and pandering (mostly).

Trump panders just as hard as any other politician, the main difference is that he's better at it. He manipulates the media and frames the conversation more effectively than any person I've seen in my life. He's simply playing a different game than most career politicians, more like a demagogue or charismatic leader rather than someone whose main job is to simp for donor money and the approval of party leadership. Sanders tried this approach from the left, but since he doesn't have the skill or charisma Trump does, he couldn't build a coalition beyond upper middle class white liberals.

While sure, he will pander some as every does, I believe it is far less than a normal politician because he doesn’t care about the donor class. That is not who gets him elected. Quite the opposite, he has been elected twice (thrice) by having a message that appeals to the normal American and has followed through on more than anyone I’ve seen in my forty years. It is the ineffectiveness of Republicans in Congress that have stymied efforts more than anything.
