Alexander is getting hyped up a lot by the media too! If he can have a productive rookie season in the next couple of years he could be one of the first American whites to get a shoe deal, i dont even know who the last wwas??! Nash and Dirk havent been able to get shoe deals because they are not "black" enough in the way they play. Alexander is the best chance. I am sick of wearing shoes named after negroes!!

You'd probably have to go back to the Converse deal of Larry Bird back in the 80's and very early 90's. That was the last major deal that I can remember (even then I was in elementary school). Wow...I didn't realize how long it has been.

I figured all the Joe Alexander fans on here (I know there are a lot because I'm one myself) would love to hear some good news. Well the Bucks have just traded starting SF and Joe Alexander blockade Richard Jefferson to the Spurs. In return, they received SF Bruce Bowen who is old and merely a good defensive role player at this point. Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto are also going to Milwaukee. This is great news for Joe and we can all expect a much bigger bump in minutes next season. Oberto may also benefit from this trade as well.

That is good news indeed for Joe Alexander. That trade should pretty much double to triple his minutes in the rotation.

I'm happy that Jefferson (mostly his contract

) is gone, and I'm glad Alexander's time will increase. Getting Oberto is another positive. However, I cannot express the my chagrin having to deal with Bowen in Milwaukee. King of all thugs.

No worries, Bowen (and Oberto) are both expected to be released, as they are only guaranteed a small portion of their 2010 salaries.

Yeah, I just found out Oberto isn't actually going to the Bucks. He was traded away later that day to the Pistons for Amir Johnson. I'd much rather have had Oberto in Milwaukee, and was somewhat looking forward to that idea.

I'm pumped to see Jumpin Joe Alexander start soon. He will probably become my favorite player other than Nowitzki. I also am going to follow Chase Budinger depending where he goes in the draft tommorow.

The Bucks are going to be a fun team to watch.

Hopefully Joe will have improved his jump shot so that he can strech the defense out some, so that he can use his amazing athleticism and drive to the rim. Watching him play last year he looked tentative at times, im thinking it was just an adjustment to the game and that he will bring some of that fire he played with at WVU.

in my opinion, it's not his jumper that is Joe's weakpoint (he has an exceptional mid-range game and can step outside occasionally), but rather his ball handling. he needs to improve this area in order to take better advantage of his quick first step and explosiveness attacking the rim.

interesting. too many wing players don't have good ball handling skills. I am sure Joe Alexander will work on that. looks like he has all the other skills needed to be a star.

i still can't get over Joe Alexander not being in the dunk contest. they went with the other white player (rudy fernandez)maybe for the Spanish angle, and i don't think the NBA wanted Joe Alexander to do well and compete with Nate and Dwight Howard. Instead, Rudy Fernandez did some good dunks but not ones that would have put Nate Rob or Dwight Howard to shame. plus the NBA got its choreographed Nate vs. Dwight dunk contest final.

Joe needs to have a break out season in 2009/2010! This might be his only chance to start in this league. Make an impact Joe. You have all the talent in the world. Just belive in yourself and give us a modern stronger version of Keith Van Horn/Tom Chambers. I want this guy to become an all star. I want to watch his hilites all the time. From him stroking the three to Joe dunking on some people. Posterize them Joe!

i think he has a great chance! he will get minutes now with Richard Jefferson gone. we will have some awesome games this year. can't wait!

Well seems like instead of an increased role for Joe he is being deemed a bust already. His option was not picked up, making him an unrestricted free agent after the season.

I read that in my local paper that Milwaukee is so dissapointed with him that they didn't pick up his third year.  Hopefully things will get better for him.

The problem is that he can stay healthy. He has been on the injured list more than the whole team put together. It's really weird because he wasn't like that at West Virginia. He is also in great shape and proved it trying out for multiple teams in a couple of days before being drafted. Joe needs to get healthy and he needs to do it fast. Then somehow he needs to fight for some minutes in the rotation to prove himself all over again. He would have been a starter if he wouldn't have gotten hurt. Such a horrible ordeal. Good luck Joe.

Joe Alexander is back practicing with the team. It's been a long road back for him. He is with them on the road trip. He should play sometime in the next few games if he doesn't reaggravate his hamstring. They are going to really bring him back very slowly. He needs to get back in basketball shape. I just hope he can find a way to eventually contribute every night over the 2nd half of the season. Good luck Joe!

This guy has so much potential. He seriously has just about as much foot speed, agility and leaping ability as Nate Robinson- and he is almost a foot taller! I hope he shows Milwaukee something down the stretch this season and they bring him back next year! Go Jumpin Joe!
