Jim Mora Fired

Jim Mora was fired today, in large part, for his ignorance that their quarterback was killing the team. Of course, that will not be in the official press release but it's the truth.

In their last game against Philly, Michael Vick sprained his right ankle on the first play of the third quarter and was replaced by Matt Schaub.

Vick was 8/14 for 81 yards and 1 TD.
Schaub was 15/21 for 175 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.

Not too bad for coming off the bench cold. Schaub played just under half the game and had more than TWICE the yards!

Let this be a lesson for future coaches.

i dont really look at it that way. It was painfully obvious that Mora wasnt the problem in Atlanta, but rather their darker hued joke of a QB. Mora was just the scapegoat. He was fired, while the real culprit remains employed

This could be the reason why he has such father son relationship with Ron Mexico. He could be another Strom Thurmond.....

How do you tell your sons that you are a man when you write crap like that??? HAAAAA! You've got to know those other ESPN guys are just dying to tell it like it is, but are too scared for their jobs. It's like living under Stalin, Castro or Saddam. When the tyrants give a speech, you can't be the first person to stop the clapping because it will show your lack of commitment and then the gulag awaits. Same damn thing with Michael Vick. If anyone criticizes him, they are playing with their livlihoods. Freakin' crazy!

I truly feel bad for those guys at ESPN. Watching every word that comes out of their mouths to make sure no black gets offended.

At this point, what can the Falcons do about Vick? With all that money invested in him, how can they get bench him? You know with that contract he's not going to sit the bench. He still sells jerseys (Why? I'll never know..) They need to trade Schaub while they can still get something for him, and I do think they have to try one more coach who can try to find a way to make Vick a successful quarterback. I don't think it's that ridiculous that people are clamoring for a coach who can adjust to Vick.. I just want them to deal Schaub so he can be a good QB elsewhere..

I understand what you are saying,I respectfully disagree. MORA should have had the guts to bench vick and start MATT SCHAUB.then the falcons would have won more games and Mora would have kept his job but HIS nuthugging of VICK cost him his job.Mora is the coach and he should call the shots.There were so many instances to bench vick and start MATT SCHAUB this past season but he ignored them.As far as I am concerned he got what he deserved.Hopefully Jeff Fisher will get his soon too.

There's no way Mora could not have realize how sh**** Vick is. There
must be some pressure - orders - to keep Vick at the helm. There's
no other explanation. I don't Mora was scared to do so, I don't think he
could have done it without being drawn and quartered. If the team does
well, Vick will get any and ALL credit. If they do poorly, the coach, any
coach, will be left high and dry with all the blame, because how could
anyone fail when they have Vick's 'confounding talent' on hand? I never
expected Mora to make any kind of difference offensively when he took
the job, as I never believed he'd be able to sit Vick's useless azz on the
bench for his ridiculously poor abilities as a QB.

The best thing would be for Atlanta to hire a black coach!

Though I
doubt you'll see that happen - for obvious reasons, think of the

Almost every blurb I see in reference to the search for a Falcons coach is worded in a complimentary fashion towards Vick.

Vick makes too much to be benched. He would have to play 10 times worse then he has been to be replaced. It just won't happen. Also he is the number one guy in fan purchases. He is the "face" of the NFL (which makes me want to never watch again).
