Maybe the Eagles will let Bloom play the slot as the 3rd WR. I know the way it works: The Eagles could never start Curtis, like they're projected to, at #1 and Bloom as the 2nd wideout. This in my mind would be quite a one-two tandem, but Andy Reid could be accused of white favouritism.

Eagles have been a very good team often, but often with few whites. Considering that I think that McNabb doesn't usually have 1,000 yard receivers and that I don't know how much playing time these whites will get, I wouldn't go that far lumsdenpower.

Is Dustin Fox still with the Eagles?

Yes, Fox is still with the Eagles. However, he had to change his number from 21 to 25 becuase the almighty Will Peterson came over to the team and had to have 21 because he's a crybaby!

The Eagles won't start Curtis and Bloom as 1 and 2 because they have Reggie Brown who has been pretty good thus far for them while Bloom has proved nothing...

an article about Bloom.

"YOU DON'T WIN jobs in minicamp, but Jeremy Bloom has helped himself quite a bit this spring."

The Eagles released 3 cauc. WR (Jeremy Bloom, Zac Collie, Michael Gasperson) today along with the only listed white CB (Dustin Fox)in the NFL.

plus Lee Vickers and Jeremy Cain...

still i think Collie will be offered PS spot, Gasperson has an outside shot of getting on a roster somewhere after quite nice preseason and i am pretty sure someone will take a shot at Bloom. at least that's what i hope...

Bloom did not perform well in the preseason... Can't really fault the Eagles here although I am still surprised because they still have no better option.

God it is ridiculous! Is it too much to ask to even have a few white backups at CB. I guess it's "Me Myself and Steve Gregory" now. I really thought the Eagles were going to keep a second white WR also, I guess I set my sites too high. Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

So it literally is the three musketeers: Steve Gregory, Ethan Kilmer, and Craig Dahl...What a triple threat! I guess I did get my three token backups at CB.

Now let's throw a keg party to that!

and that's probably less than 10% of a chance they will actually play at corner, Ethan being their ST demon/safety/nickel and Craig buried on the depth chart.

still, better than nothing. even if they end up playing more caste appropriate safety position

Thing is, a black guy in the same situation would get a lot more than one training camp, especially when recovering from a major injury. A world class black skier with tremendous speed and elusiveness and a proven record of success at a major college football program, or any two-sport black athlete who was a star at both, would not be summarily dispatched like that unless he was truly awful.

I hope Bloom perseveres and does end up as a very good kick returner and backup WR or maybe even a starter for an NFL team, as unlikely as it may be.

The Eagles are really looking like they shot themselves in the foot for cutting the reliable Bloom, even though he wasn't spectacular in the Pre-season. The Eagles fumbled two punts on the receiving end, the last one giving the Packers the ball to win the game on the last drive.

Bloom deserved a chance that any black player would get to bounce back from injury in his rookie season. Especially, a guy who had a brilliant college career and won the superstar competition this year and is also a star skier...what an athlete.

somewhere Jeremy Bloom is laughing... he never muffed a punt, never lost a fumble. they cut him after he run behind special teams made of scrub players that didn't even make a team...
