Did any of you guys catch the feature tonight on Sports Center on Jeremy Bloom? If not, then watch one of the reruns and someone please tape it if possible. My vcr will not record for some stupid reason,it has a mind of it's own.Ha.ha.

Anyways, they show him working out getting ready for the draft. They talk about his sub 4.3 speed and how he might be one of the best secrets of the draft. The trainer for him says that his speed is world class. They even mention football & track in his possible future.I would be willing to bet that he will win the nfl's fastest man contest sometime soon.I'm very excited to see this kid get a shot.He is even faster than K.Curtis if you can believe that.Blinding speed.

They talked a little about Bloom being to small. Is Steve Smith too small, does anybody remember former Houston Oiler wr Ernest Givens..was that smurf too small. Former cowboy great Drew Pearson was small and slow but he put up big numbers. When a prospective nfl draft pick is white..they seem to always look for reasons to pick the guy much later in the draft than they should.

They do look for anything to hold whites back. I remember Givens Pearson, but you never hear how small they were at WR. How many times have you heard that about Lance Alworth in the last month. I've heard it probably 3 times at least just watching a few NFL games and hearing radio guys mention it. What a horrible double standard. Alworth was twice the receiver of Givens.

Bloom replied about how that doesn't stop Steve Smith in the tv interview.I really like his bravado. He won't let anyone hold him back from acheiving his goals. He is as confident as any kid his age that I have ever seen without coming off to *******y like a T.O. This kid is going to be a star despite what the system might do to try to hold him back.I see him being a future pro bowler and a huge fan favorite wherever he goes! His ability to cut, shake, and make people miss is amazing combined with his exceptional speed.Good luck to him in the Olympics and at the nfl combine.I hope he runs a 4.2 flat!!

Hey guys, don't forget Dante Hall as another example of a tiny black guy who garners respect anyway. Hopefully Bloom will be like Matt Jones: too athletic to ignore. It's too bad that white players have to be freaks of nature in order to gain respect, and even then people want to poke as many holes in their game as they can.

By the way, how long has he been out of football? One year?

"I see him being a future pro bowler and a huge fan favorite wherever he goes! His ability to cut, shake, and make people miss is amazing combined with his exceptional speed." Humm, sounds like Eric Croutch all over again. And yes he will get pushed out just like any other white wide reciever, don't hold you breath.

He has been out of football for 2 years but that won't be a problem. This guy is a world class athlete who can run with anyone in the nfl.He will make it!This is one guy that I guarantee can't miss.He also knows how to market himself and that will help him too.I hope E.Crouch can revive his career up in Canada. He got screwed royaly.

There are a lot of well known black receivers who are under six feet tall -- Santana Moss, Chris Chambers, Joey Galloway, Deion Branch, Derrick Mason, Mark Clayton, Antwaan Randel-El, L. Coles, and lots of others. Marvin Harrison is listed as 6-0 but looks about 5-10. Dante Hall is very short. Remember Jermaine Lewis who started for the Ravens for several years? He was as short as Hall.

Short receivers did very well this past season. But they always have to make up a shortcoming for a talented white athlete. Mike Hass has even been called too short and he's 6-1!

And don't forget, Matt Jones was labeled too tall!

White receivers are "too short" if they're under 6-2, and "tight end material" if they're over 6-2. So I guess the only acceptable white wide receiver is 6-2 with 3.9 speed.

Thats right Joe, Heisman trophy winner Crouch should have accepted his fate. He was a great quarterback and runner but the media and NFL said he had to play wide receiver. But Michael Vick who was half the quarterback Crouch was, got a thousand times the publcity and was the first pick of the draft as a quarterback and is still being hyped five years later as the greatest weapon in NFL history. No discrepancy there at all. Crouch is a loser and Vick is a winner.

I am not trying to hype Vick at all. I was just saying that I thought Crouch left the Rams even before training camp started.
