How do you run the 55M and the 200M and not the 100M dash?

In Indoor Track and Field, there is almost never a 100 meter dash. The track is shorter with tighter turns. They usually run a 55 or 60 meter sprint on the inner middle part of the track. The 200 is run on the normal track. The 100 meters is an outdoor sprint!I hope this helps out.

Jay Conns is ranked 11th in both the 60m and 200m in trackwire's " Mens Dandy dozen".I believe he is the only sprinter besides WaLter Dix to be ranked in both. Not bad for a little blue eyed boy from Canada.

Jay Connaughton repeated as Southland conference champion in the 200m 21.68 and also had a 2nd in the 60m 6.79.18 pts last yr and he scored 19.5 pts this yr to help UTA to 2nd place. He also anchored the 4 x 400 relay to a 3rd place.3 All SLC conferences selections and second highest point total in the meet. Not bad at all.

I think that Jared is in an interesting position

On one hand his hernia surgery this fall really cut into his training, particularly that crucial acceleration and strength development that occurs early in the season. This showed in his 60m times, he wasn't able to regain his form and strength quickly enough to match last years performances.

Interestingly enough though, his speed and speed/special endurance doesn't seem to have have suffered the same fate as his strength and power, because his indoor 200m times have been a lot better than last year's, including a 21.21 personal best. Last year he took a slower time and turned it into 20.5 windy and 20.7 legal, so this year we can only expect things to be a lot better.

Not to mention that by the time the summer rolls around he will have likely made up the lost ground from his hernia operation.

JC won the SLC championship outdoor team champinship. He won the 200m (20.76)4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays. They say he would have won the 100m,but he stopped at the wrong line-He had the best prelim at 10.40.He has qualified for the MW regionals in the 100,200,4x100 and the 4x400.I think he has a real legimate shot to return to the NCAA'S.

Nate ran a 20.67 just two weeks ago.I hope he can come up with a big performance in the final.

Congrats to Jared as well.I really wish he was running the 100 more this season. That is by far his best event in my opinion. It will be interesting to see if either of these guys pursues track as a posssible career after they graduate. As far as I know, they are both seniors.

I'm pretty sure Jared is going to stay in Arlington and train with his current coach, and hopefully have a long career on Canadian national teams.

Jared finished in third place in the finals running a time of 20.90 into a -0.9 wind. Not a bad performance but I was hoping he could have won.Now it's time to start getting ready for the World Championships soon.JayConn is only 22 so time is still on his side.He should improve alot as he gets out of school.

That is a very nice time for Jared this weekend. The conditions seem like they were perfect with warm weather and a good legal wind. I'm very impressed with his progression in the 100.

Not too bad a time for Wariner in the deuce either. I still think that if he concentrated alot more of his training time in the 200, that he could go sub 20!

I am correct in saying that 10.15 is the fastest time run by any white guy on the planet in 2008?
