Mr. Gardner of the Rockford Files (one of my fav series as a child) and epic Motion picture "The Great Escape" passed away last night. I believe at the age of 86 years old. From all intell, he was a great actor and man. RIP Rock!

Sorry to here that Westside. "The Great Escape," was a good movie and I watch the Rockford Files reruns a couple of times a week. One of the few good things about having cable is you can see reruns of some of the quality shows that used to be on T.V.!

Rockford Files had one of the great theme songs too.

I like Maverick. There is a local channel here that shows westerns, and pre 1970s shows round the clock. Maverick is one of the best on there. Of course The Great Escape is an all time classic.

Was Mr Garner ever overtly political? I don't recall him ever being out front politically. To his credit, I suppose, given the Hollyweird norm.

It's possible he leaned conservative. Although he started as a bathing suit model for Jantzen, he's been quoted as saying he didn't want to make movies with a lot of profanity or had to take his clothes off, and didn't want to do horror movies.

James Garner was a big Raider fan. I recall him standing near the Raider bench from the 1970's on.

Good for him. Lots of white players on the 70's Raider's teams. White WR, Biletnikoff, white QB, Stabler, white RB, Van Eeghan, etc. TE, Casper, appropriately named, Banaszak, Hendricks, Matuszak, and P Ray Guy
