Is Peyton Manning/Tom Brady the Larry Bird/Kevin McHale of the NFL?

After watching Peyton Mannings's 7 TD performance and all the talk here on black quarterbacks coming into the league. I got to reminiscing about the last time I seriously watched the NBA. That was back in the 80's when there a few prominent white all-stars still playing. Guys like Bird, McHale, Ainge, Kiki Vandeweghe, Tom Chambers, Stockton, etc. anyone here can help me with other names.

Is this what we're seeing? I sure hope not. I really don't won't to stop watching the NFL, but if it becomes what the NBA is today, I probably will.

Manning showed he can still play, but how many more years does he and Brady have. With the CM force feeding us black QB's, is it just a matter of time before we see only 1 or 2 white QB's in the league, much like we see only 1 or 2 great white PG's or players in the NBA?

Yes, we've had Steve Nash, Dirk, and now Love, D. Lee doesn't even get much respect, but that's about all as far as perennial white all-stars.

Much like the way, Bird, McHale, Vandeweghe, etc. faded, could Manning/Brady be those guys to the NFL the way Bird was to the NBA?

I hope you guys see what I'm trying to say here. I'm one of the old f@rt$ on CF football and I can remember when I enjoyed watching Bird and McHale beat the all black Lakers the way Manning and Brady beat their mostly black opponents. I hope I'm not seeing the beginning of the end of the last white dominated skill position in the NFL!

Thoughts? Am I wrong? I hope so!

I'm not sure how to feel about this. Right now, it seems like there are actually a good number of white QBs in college ball, as compared to last year when it seemed like every other team had a black quarterback. This year teams like Cincinnati, Arizona, Maryland, etc are starting white QBs for the first time in some years. White QBs are easily the majority of college ball right now, just look at how the top 10 in passing yards currently for 2013 are all white. The black quarterback agenda is selecting from a very tiny sample of black quarterbacks and hyping them up. That's why Winston and Bridgewater are hyped up for performances against mediocre teams (Pitt and Eastern Kentucky, respectively) while Jared Goff, Derek Carr, David Fales, Aaron Murray, Johnny Manziel, Christian Hackenberg, Sean Mannion, Baker MAyfield, etc are all ignored.

Furthermore, I'm hoping these teams and aging QBs will groom their successors. Manning has Osweiler in Denver, Manning has Nassib in New York, Big Ben has Landry Jones, Vick has Foles and Barkley, etc.

At the same time, I worry that there will be more hype. Winston will receive it, while LSU, Notre Dame, and Texas should all have black QBs in the next few years who will receive it (Jennings, Zaire, Heard).

Difference is a White athlete is far more likely to succeed in the NFL than the NBA. Compare JJ Watt and Wes Welker to JJ Reddick, Adam Morrison, Jimmer Fredette.

I don't think White QBs are going anywhere. Since Doug Williams beat the Broncos ('87 season ?), White QBs have a 25 year uninterrupted Super Bowl win streak.
Even with the social engineering, Brees, Manning Bros., & Brady keep winning the Lombardis.

I do think the position will stay integrated tho.. and I know most people find the kicking game lame. But I enjoy watching kickers. It's a position that (I think), requires even more solo pressure than QB'ing, and because it's social status is under the radar, it's been free from tampering, & remains snow white.
