"Im not saying these guys arent good at what they do. Im just saying that they receive far more praise than other wide-outs because they are Undersized White Receivers (UWRs). They usually get open because of 1-2 other threats the defense is concentrating on, but John Madden or Dan Dierdorf always make it sound like they beat double coverage and will spend several minutes praising their route running, hands, blocking, football IQ or toughness."
The blog lists all white players, with the token black inclusion as Vince Young. I find it funny when people say that Welker is only good because of Moss. In Welkers 2 years with the Miami Dolphins he had 96 catches for 1121 yards. How can a guy who is so consistent, walked on to college and went undrafted be overrated?
You guys here have posted your dislike for Dierdorfs comments, so that perspective is interesting. I think that since so many people believe"it's clearly a fact" whites aren't as athletic, that the sportswriters, announcers, etc think that they are actually complimenting and over-compensating the whites when they go "Well, he's not athletic, but he is a hard worker."
