The new Caste Football website is almost here, finally. As of now, this site will go down on Friday, July 1, and the new site will be launched and on-line on Tuesday, July 5.

I was looking at the board on the new site yesterday, which is V-Bulletin rather than WebWiz. I like this board a lot since the software was updated a couple of years ago but the new one should be better as it's state of the art V-Bulletin, which is the most popular and widely used board software. The posts were successfully moved over to the new board several days ago without any problems, except that the member number (which I have entered manually through the years) didn't go through. That may or may not be correctable.

I've been told to ask the registered posters to make sure you have your current e-mail address up to date here, otherwise you won't be able to post on the new board. Also make sure to have your password written down in case you always log in automatically and may have forgotten it.

If there's anything else I need to informthe CF communityabout I'll post it in this thread.

The new site will be comment-enabled after articles, so please start thinking about blogging about a sport or sports you are expert in on the new homepage. We want the homepage to become as busy and "must-read" as the forum. Lots of new material is good, and a lot of it can simply be what would otherwise be a post here -- nothing elaborate, just a few paragraphs of information and/or commentary from the CF perspective.

Also, those that want to comment on articles will haveto initially register and then log-in, which should cut down considerably on the trolls and trouble-makers.

This sounds grat Don. I can't wait. The only downside is that we have no where to go to talk about the fight between Wlad and Haye this Saturday Night. This will be history in the making.

I'm guessing this means that if you have any PMs you want to save to Microsoft Word, do it in the next two days guys.

I look forward to seeing the new remarks on the homepage, now that a white man has now officially rushed for 1,000 yards, 25 years after Craig James did it. It will be great to see any comments on such! We have two white RBs who are a vital part of their team's offense (one a starter and one a vital backup)- although it should be more like 30 or more. I also look forward to being able to comment under articles because critiquing and complimenting poster's articles will encourage more of them. I also look forward to reading the new blurbs listed in the forums for each individual sport!

Might be best, if you sent a e-mail to the group to remain those who may not come here before the first.

Also, is the ANU forum going down at the same time? If it isn't being changed at the same time members here could go over there https://www.anu.org/forum/Default.asp and at least read assuming the errors plaguing the board don't cause the board to not be accessible but over some of those days it should be available, hopefully and several here are already register there so they should be able to post so other here will have something to read in case they can't register there. It will be a place to keep up with other here for those few days if it isn't down.

Yes, the rebuild of anu.org is going to be launched in roughly the same time frame. The board software on that site is almost completely dysfunctional so it's not the place to go for updates and information.

I don't believe I can email the registered posters on this board, but I'll take another look at it.

Update: The launching is going to be pushed back one week. CF will go offline on Friday 7/8 and the new site will launch on Monday 7/11.

What will happen with the new board software is that all registered posters will get an email asking them to authenticate their password, giving a link to click to activate their account on the new V-Bulletin board. That's why it's important to make sure you have a current email address registered here, because if it's not a good email address, you won't receive the authentication request, which means you won't be able to post on the new board. Since everyone doesn't stop by every day, this will give everyone another week to see this announcement and to make sure their email address is current.

It also means we can post on Wlad's fight this weekend.

You made my weekend my good friend. Thanks from all of us here. This is going to be one, very exciting weekend that most of us have looked forward to for a long time. This site is so important to all of us. Most of us are going to go through withdrawl symtoms when it is down for a few days. Almost like losing a good friend, a dog, or a beautiful girlfriend who isn't a feminist. Lol.

Hey all, been a while since I've had a chance to log on. Been a busy couple of months, but it's good to see that the board change is almost here. I'm really excited to get a chance to see all of the material that the fine writers here can compose.

I'm hoping you'll be one of the fine writers who helps us with baseball and perhaps other sports.

I'm really looking forward the comments for articles on the home page. While I'm not sure they will be included because of me, I do want to brag that I've mentioned article comments numerous times, and now it's coming true! Don, is the date members joined going to remain?

Don, today is the day. I hope the relaunch goes smoothly. Just want to let you know what an important site this is and the work you do in making it happen as well as the moderators such as White lighting and Jaxvid. I hope I did not leave any moderators out, if I did forgive me.

Let's hope everything goes smooth this weekend. I'm going to miss all of you guys. It will be really weird to go that long without reading other posts or posting myself.
smiley19.gif
Oh well. It must be done. Good luck Don and we will see you on the other side.

I agree, white lightning. Your post sounds kind of like Apollo 8!
