Thanks WIR. I don't follow Canadian football much, but I know from time to time there are some solid white Canadians that make runs at landing a roster spot in the NFL. In recent years goys like Jesse Lumsden, Andy Fantuz, Sam Giguere and Jason Clearmont have been hyped as potential players, but nothing came of it.
Two best Canadian prospects I can remember, however, that got totally screwed over by the Caste NFL were Tim Tindale and Don Blair.
Tindale was a lightning fast RB from Western Ontario, who actually played with Buffalo briefly and did good things despite limited carries. Even had a big playoff game -- had an almost 50 yard TD run in a mid-90's playoff game. He was quickly purged from the league, however, with the excuse that he had an injury. Most injuries are NOT career ending (except David Pollack's injury), but for whites at Caste positions, any excuse to release them will be used.
Blair was a super fast WR from the Calgary Dinos, who excelled at the East-West game in the mid-90's. He did so well, that ESPN announcer for that game Mel Kosher Jr., who picked the players for the Hula Bowl, said on the air "I'd like to take this kid to Hawaii next week". He went and excelled, but still wasn't drafted. Wound up signing with the Bears. Horrible move. Caste-clown Wannstedt, who had just cut ex-entrenched starter Tom Waddell, seemed to give him no chance. He eventually went to the CFL and played well for many years.
