Here's some information on QB Hutson Mason of Marietta's (GA) Lassiter HS. He's 6'3, 190 & only rated a 3 star recruit by (White)Rivals.

Mason will be playing in the GA North-South All-Star Game on Dec. 29 in Columbus, GA. He has offers from schools such as UGA, Clemson, Miss.St., FSU, UVA & Cincinnati. As a Junior, Mason passed for 3,705 yards & 28 TDs with a 70% completion %. This year, he led the Trojans to the state playoffs with a 12-0 record putting up amazing stats of 4276 yards, 54 TDs, 2 rushing TDs, 74% completion % & just 5 int's. He threw for 8 TDs against South Gwinnett.

he stands tall in the pocket, keeps his eyes downfield even when he's under pressure or on the move, his a quick release, and the ball just explodes out of his hand. it'll be fun to watch him play some day.

one question: are any of those White receivers that he's throwing to, the ones who are running around wide open in nearly every highlight,getting looked at? i suspect i already know the answer ...
 
JC, (White)Rivals & Scout has Hutson as the only LHS player in their database (including the class of '11 & '12). That's total BS because Lassiter is a 5A school with a legacy of good athletic programs. Sr.WR Jimmy Mayer had 400 yds receiving & 8 TDs...you'd think that be good for 2-3 stars.

Mason was named GA (Class 5A) Offensive Player of the Year.
 
CDB15, I believe they have since all their QBs are White...Cox, Gray (may move to WR with his 4.4 speed), Murray, Mettenberger & now Mason.

Shockley was decent as a Senior, but didn't have the talent of Matt Stafford, the accuracy of Mike Bobo & Eric Eric Zeier or the leadership of David Greene.
