At least the mother is making an attempt to keep him out of trouble. Usually when one of their little darlings gets into trouble, the first thing they do is blame White people.

Ah yes, the mother beating I know that one well. Not only would I get the beating, she'd make me return what I stole to the person/store I stole from, on top of that, I'd get the slap across the head in front of everyone for extra embarressment.
