inter's coach will be fired soon
he changes his team too often

inter lost against novara 3-1
the team was a joke
forlan only played the first half, he was substitued by obi the nigerian

ranocchia was awfull
the defence shuold not be changed from match to match! or not as much as now
i don't even know if the coach tried to play with 3 or 4 defenders

and luc castaignos was titular

edit: it's official now, gasperini is fired

As expected for a coach who changes Forlan with Muntari and leaves Pazzini on the bench while his team is playing 0:0 at home. Mindboggling...
I like the new coach (Ranieri) but I am not sure he will last long - might not have the charisma you need for a team like Inter (he was forced out by player's intrigues from Roma last year). The fans wanted Walter Zenga, the legendary Inter goalkeeper, to be the new coach.
Still no clear leader in Serie A, with Milan and especially Inter looking really bad. However, in the last games Napoli (which looked great against Machester City and Milan) loosing against Chievo (a relegation zone team) and Juventus, which looked really good the first game, drawing at home with Bologna, another relagation zone team. Still, as mentioned, compared to the Premier League, Serie A teams look surprisingly white and (in most cases) - still mostly Italian... I also like the tight defences these teams put in place. Here is a quote from the Brazilian Ronaldinho from last year:
“It is more difficult to play in Italy than in Spain. Here, I am afforded less space,” Ronnie said. “There is no problem [between Leonardo and I]. It doesn’t matter whether I play up front, on the left or on the right. I repeat, the problem is that there is less space.”
So this year again I will spend more time watching Serie A.

of course, this is closely related to the very low number of non south american black defenders in this league, and to the identity italy has when it comes to soccer
i can't watch premier league matches, as i am not english, or from northern europe, and of course because the defenses are HORRIBLE in premier league
the worst league when it comes to defenders, with french ligue 1, ofcourse

spanish liga is not bad either
i was a real madrid fan, i even bought a real madrid scarf when i was in madrid
ah, i was young.... but then i realised that madrid was only a big corporation
i stopped supporting them when they lost against monaco in the 2004 champions league
now real madrid is a joke, since florentino perez said he wanted to have a lot of muslim players to get the money of the arab countries

about the new coach, i think that inter needs a coach that will only put the best players on the field, and let them play like they always play
gasperini tried to change the way they play, and it didn't worked

yes, and also he never simulates, dives, or even criticize the referee's decision

for the match against the turkish club, inter played without samuel, motta, stankovic, forlan, milito, chivu ect (and also the "turks" scored on their only semi-occasion)

Good point, it was a freak result in many respects! I think that Inter will be able to beat Trabzonspor in the away match and make up for the home loss.

but the coach might get fired for this bad start
luis figo is rumored to be the next coach
let's see what they can do against AS roma in serie A

You were right, Gasparini didn't last long at the helm of Inter. Time will tell whether Ranieri will be an improvement (he was recently sacked by Roma).

as you said, forlan is the best in the important matches

He is a very creative player and has nerves of steel (e.g. when it comes to penalty shootouts), so coaches shouldn't be too quick to sub him out.

Btw, I think that the Brazil vs. Netherlands World Cup match (specifically Sneijder's two goals) may have negatively affected Julio Cesar and caused him to lose his nerve. The Brazilian goalkeeper had a fantastic 2009/2010 season (was rated by some experts as the best custodian in the world), but he has not been as convincing since the 1/4 final of the 2010 World Cup and has been prone to errors. Perhaps this could explain why Inter's defense has seemed rather shaky - it's always important that goalies project an image of confidence and leadership to their defenders.

about nerves of steel: i saw a video a while ago,and i didn't find it on youtube
but it showed forlan's reaction during the last seconds of uruguay-ghana
while suarez saved tha ball with his hand and the referee sent him off, he had no reaction, he didn't even move
same during the penalty
and then he scored his first penalty kick in the penalty shoot-out
it was incredible to see
i couldn't have same attitude while watching the game, i was screaming during all the match, with my uruguay jersey
and when the black player missed the penaly....OMG

also about julio cesar: i know some say he is or was the best in the world, but i don't think so
i think he has been VERY SLIGHTLY over rated
he is excellent in every thing, exept the physical presence on the crosses
i prefer doni
and murara will be better

finally a victory for inter
forlan created the first goal, by getting past a black defender
he was replaced by milito at 70 min

I think that Casillas, Valdes, Adler and Neuer are more than worthy competitors…though Julio Cesar certainly used to be a top goalkeeper and may still manage to regain his best form.

Haven’t had the chance to watch Doni and Murara, but I trust your judgment. Both of them are quite young too (some goalkeepers like Edwin van der Saar are late bloomers) and could improve even further.
Thanks for the compilation, I believe that Forlan is starting to gel with his new teammates, but as you said, Inter should not be rotating players so frequently, otherwise they could self-sabotage.
Good to see that Inter are back to their winning ways…I think they miss their defensive lynchpin Materazzi (though Zanetti is really trying hard to fill his shoes). The Matrix always gave his best for the shirt.
Very interesting observation regarding the situation in the Ghana-Uruguay match. Forlan and Kuyt are currently the best penalty kick takers in the world and deserve credit, as they always keep their cool in tight situations.

inter lost 3-0 to napoli
and napoli didn't even play with their best player, cavani (he was injuried)

inter dominated the first half, but once again, a black defender made his team lose
http://videa.hu/videok/sport/in0-1na-http-www.matchhighlight.com-wKVs7FWGuP3v68UI

the nigerian obi has been totally dominated on his left side, and tried to stop the napoli player irregularly
so it gave napoli a penalty, and obi was sent off (second yellow card)
(note that julio cesar stopped the penalty, but it wasn't enough)

after that, the japanese nagatomo proved that he didn't have the talent to play for a big club, this goal is pathetic, nagatomo looks like a child playing with adults
http://videa.hu/videok/sport/in0-2na-http-www.matchhighlight.com-j7pmKkBUuK0VQhaV

the saddest thing is that these two will still play, because it's all politics (they are the asian and the african of the team)

forlan's match (the first half, because after the red card for obi and the penalty, there was no match)

with sneijder being injuried, and motta too, forlan plays really like an offensive middlefielder

Another dreadful result for Inter. They looked even worse than they did against Novarra. Inter and Arsenal are the big flops of this season so far. Napoli, on the other hand, I've seen three of their matches this year, including a Champions League match, and every time they've been enjoyable to watch.

but i am not worried
maicon came back, and he played well

motta will come back

napoli has a lot of good players (cavani, hamsik, gargano...)
but i really think only inter, milan ac and juventus have what it takes to win the serie A
and milan ac had a bad start too

real madrid isn't very impressive neither, in the spanish liga

Inter looked bad indeed, but the first goal from Napoli came from a "penalty" that was outside of the penalty area. Inter's coach Ranieri did a "Mourinho" (he was right in my opinion) and got expelled.
Napoli's Colombian (black?) defender did a miss of the season by missing an open goal sitter. I will post it on the "horrid misses" thread.
I watched the second half of Juventus - Milan (2:0). Juve dominated and should have won by a wider margin. Juve looks very good this year. Apart from the "usual suspects" I saw a great Swiss defender - Stephan Lichtsteiner, also Mirko Vučinić whom they bought from Roma is looking great in this team, and of course their home-grown player Claudio Marchisio did great and scored 2 goals. Great game and only modest presence of black players, nothing close to the Premier League.

if only swiss could have played with their foward; alexander frei, at the last big competitions....(he injuried himself)
schweitz, , with their granite hard white defense, could have gone even further....

i saw the miss from zuniga, and i knew it was gonna end in the "horrible misses" thread...
and yes, he is mostly black
not hard to see

uruguay won 4-2 against bolivia
forlan was decisive on 3 of the 4 goals
very good match from him
it's the best way to prove the italians they were wrong

Good to see that Forlan is still doing the business for Uruguay....His partnership with Suarez is a nightmare for any defense.

Regarding the comments of the Italians - I think that F.C. "Inter" are unpopular with most Italian fans and the media, because they have very few Italian players in their squad and subscribe to internationalism. So, it's more of a criticism directed at Inter than at the player himself, though it's of course quite sad that Forlan is being scapegoated in such a manner. He wouldn't have attracted so much attention if he was a Juventus or Milan footballer.

the match against paraguay, for the qualification to the 2014 world cup:

forlan injuried himself at the end of the match, after becoming the absolute top goal scorer for uruguay (32 goals) (he was already the top scorer, but he was tied with scarone)
scarone was the previous record holder, with 31

forlan could miss the next match of inter, and the match against chile
he said he will see in milan what the injury really is

It's an excellent achievement and Forlan is also the most capped player for the Uruguay national side. Uruguay were extremely close to snatching a historic win in Asuncion, but the Paraguyans managed to equalize in the dying moments of the game.

I think that Uruguay are a lock to qualify for the 2014 World Cup. My predictions are that Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia and Peru will emerge as the top four teams, while one of Ecuador or Chile will reach the finals via the intercontinental playoffs.

Forlan's injury didn't seem to be serious, but he should not be risked and deserves some rest.

The South American qualifiers always offer a lot of excitement...Colombia won 2:1 against Bolivia in La Paz (where visiting teams find it exceptionally difficult to play because of the altitude) after Falcao netted a last-minute winner, while Chile defeated Peru in the Pacific derby by a score of 4:2 (it was a very open game and the Peruvians hit the goalpost a number of times). Argentina were quite disappointing and succumbed to a 1:0 defeat in Venezuela (another historic result). I am guessing that the Venezuelan goalscorer Amorebieta has Basque roots.

thank you, i forgot to tell the result

peru, very good choice, they are excellent, and their white player, pizarro, is back

but don't forget paraguay, they are top 4 in the world, better than spain for example on a good day
uruguay beat them 3-0 at the last copa america final because there was a LOT of suspended players and injuried players

Amorebieta is 100% basque, you are right

wow
bad news for inter, forlan will miss 5 to 6 matches of serie A
he should be ready or uruguay-chile, ironically

edit: he should be ready, but forlan's father said he won't play, probably because he won't have played a single time for inter at the time of the match against chile

Already the name "Internazionale" should give you an idea where they come from. "Internazionale" was born as a group of people in the AC Milan's management were were unhappy about the domination of Italians in the AC Milan team. They broke away, creating their own team which was from the very beginning open to foreign players. They barely have any Italian in their first team (until recently it was Materazzi on-and-off, now Ranocchia and a few others). Inter was/is traditionally the team of the Milan "Bourgeoisie" which was always known for being "globalization" fanatics because it was "good for business", parrotting the latest fashion and owning the latest gadget that comes from the US. Although, to be honest, all the big teams today are big globalized multinational companies, promoting "diversity" and fighting "racism" (with the exception of Barcelona, to a certain extent). The only difference is that Inter was like that even in 1908 when they were established.

a compilation about forlan's 2010 world cup: my way to wish forlan a quick recovery

@Porthos, true, it's no coincidence that they were formed under that name...the club's philosophy was radical for its time, but today they are indeed not that different from all the other major clubs. There is one grey area, though - players like Thiago Motta (who are technically foreigners) are probably regarded as locals by most of the supporters due to their Italian ancestry. Quite a few Argentinian-born oriundi have represented the Italian national team.

Great compilation, Frederic! Before the tournament many saw Forlan as a "dark horse" with regard to the possibility of sweeping awards, but he won all the major accolades for the 2010 World Cup. Forlan always seems to shine for the national side.

Let's hope for a speedy recovery (and "Inter" really need him, as so far their season has been almost disastrous - just a week ago they were close to the relegation zone).
