The high jump record by Sotomayor is clouded by his drug use in the
minds of many, including mine. Patrick Sjoberg of Sweden had jumped 7'
11.5" and just missed going over 8' in a meet in NYC in 1988. Soto had
been in the competition and lost, and openly jumped for joy when
Sjoberg ticked the bar off the stands on his last attempt. The very next
week in Puerto Rico, in a small meet, no crowd, and those oh so honest
Latin officials in charge, Soto soars 8 feet. The only 'proof' was the word
of the officials, and some video, taken from across the stadium, of Soto
clearing the bar. It could have been 7' 5". Soto then jumped a half inch
higher in a meet in Salamanca a year later, but even some brainwashed
folks had doubts, and cited the altitude factor - never mind his 'waxy
skin' appearance (a sign of steroid use). I don't consider the altitude as
much of an aid as I do the drugs Soto was using - Salamanca is only
about a 1/2 mile above sea level, I think. The guy was caught on coke,
on 'roids, you name it. According to athletes and coaches on the circuit
he was caught all the time but Cubans seem, for the most part, to get all
kinds of breaks - they're third world and all, right? Anyway, for all the
times he was popped for drugs, he was let off save for when he was
caught with cocaine in his system. That made the news, finally. Maybe
because he was caught while in Canada. Everywhere else he'd get a pass.
Off camera, one well known high jumper / TV expert would talk about
Soto showing obvious signs of drug use. On TV, well, then he'd talk
about Soto's greatness. Go figure. I think Soto was caught on coke /
meth several times after the first publicized bust in Canada.
Any records by Cubans should be consider tainted these days. Period.
They will generally get off if caught using anything. Ana Quirot, a hot
shot Cuban 800 runner for years was reportdly caught three or four
times, and let skate, much like some of the E. Africans today. Some of it
is political of course. Some of it is brainwashed white officials who think
they are helping out downtrodden third world athletes. Or they are being
told to "help them" or else. Don't laugh. I have worked with circuit
athletes and with the media in track and field. I have stories that I wish I
could post right now. Like I said, for years I would comment on Carl
Lewis, and people would roll their eyes. Now that Lewis is on the
defensive, that SOME of his drug postives are on the record, no one
smirks anymore. But it will take more than the exposure of black drug
cheats to wake up the masses. We are fighting the controlled media,
academics, our 'government' and the inborn "trust in others" that whites
have. A trust that is being used against them, to brainwash at all levels.
I have to laugh when I am accused of being on some rampage against
blacks, or someone pulls up strawman arguments, a la "Oh, so no white
ahtletes use drugs?" and so on. People are so brainwashed, many of
them can't even conceive of the naturally superior, morally perfect, Entine
idol black athlete using performance enhancing drugs. My experience
with top athletes over a 15 year period showed me that in fact blacks
were by far more likely to be using performance enhancing drugs.
Despite the political protection by federations and the media, the truth
leaks out anyway. Look at how long US officials covered up for 'roid filled
black sprinters in the US; almost thirty years!
All this said, I feel that the black population has a higher percentage of
individuals suited for sprinting than the white population - but nowhere
near what we see on the track. I also feel the white population has a
higher percentage of individuals with the ability to jump high or throw
far, or lift heavy weights in comparison to blacks. But I have no doubt,
none at all, that the people in charge would run whites out of every event
if they could, if they could find a wonder drug that would allow swarms of
blacks to keep up with whites in weightlifting, swimming, throwing, NHB
and so on. It is a war. The people in charge look at everything. They'd
love to stick a "black" Olympics in our noses. This is why sprinters get so
much coverage in the US during the Olympics. Swaggering, drug bloated
blacks. Our heroes. Our role models. More importantly, something that
whites aren't supposed to be able to keep up with. Sure, Wariner and now
Rock have opened eyes. This is why Wariner had subdued coverage
during the Olympics last year, and this year's World Champs with Wariner
and Rock going one - two were ignored. It certainly wasn't for ratings -
track actually outdraws the NBA among other sports on cable in the
ratings. But we can't risk giving white kids ideas, can we? I mean, the
triple jump is ruled by whites, with the occasional black interloper. The
high jump is ruled by whites, with the occasional black star. However, the
whites who dominate tend to be from Europe in the high jump, and are
always from Europe in the triple jump. The US hasn't had a world class
white triple jumper in about 40 years. That's brainwashing. Hell, until
1968, it wasn't unusual or even much of a thought when whites would
win or place in the sprints at the National Championships or in the
Olympic Games. That changed in '68 - and if you look at Sports
Illustrated Magazine from that year's Oly coverage, the pub seemed to
suddenly go super aggressive in promoting 'black superiority' in sprints
etc.. This brings me to the long jump, which seemed to go back and
forth until the bolsehvist takeover in the US hit high gear in its attack on
sports.
Man, I have verbal diarrhea today (I'm going back and forth from my work
to this post/site). In track, the 100 and the mile were/are the "glamour"
events. That's why it was so important for folks in charge to put their
chosen tools at the top of the heap. The conditioning worked on kids
looking at the sprints. As for the mile, it was a bit tougher, but with Dr.
Gabriele Rosa, Jos Hermens, Dr. Woldemeskel Kostre (all guys with drug
backgrounds in their pasts) taking their acts to E. Africa - away from
officials - and working with politically correct populations, we now have a
lot of blacks in the top slots. Believe me, there are political forces at work
in sports, the arts, academics, etc. all geared toward breaking down the
white male. Personally, I think it's starting to crumble, but it will get
worse before it gets better.
The NFL is far worse than track when it comes to this crap. It's almost as
if word came from the top to take this sport and turn it BLACK. Just as it
appears word came from the top to turn MLB hispanic. All the 'dominant'
alpha males have to be black or brown, have to be from the groups that
they want to use to replace whites with in the US. No white heroes
allowed. Easier to control team sports, control drafts. Individual sports
are harder to mold, hence the (subconscious?) backlash and the
emergence of Wariner, Rock, Potter, Steele, not to mention several
hotshot white sprinters in California high schools over the last year, like
David Klech.
BTW - White Lightning, we worked on a show once where we had guys
from different sports jump, to test verticals, and show us how they could
dunk. The volleyball players did have higher verticals than the NBA guys
(a side note - Micheal Jordan always refused to let anyone measure his
vertical). Karch Kiraly stood under the basket, tucked one leg behind the
other, and jumped straight up on one leg and dunked a ball. It was
unreal. The white high jumpers had very high verticals, but of course
"experts" said that the test wasn't performed correctly. The same experts
who let blacks take a step before measuring the vertical. That's not the
correct way to do it, actually.
Yeah, one black standout doesn't show superiority. The flip side is we
need more whites in other events to KO myths of black superiority. Back
to Wariner - he wins the Olys. Then Rock emerges, and white guys from
the US go 1-2 at the Worlds. With Benjamin from GB being so young, and
improving - and Steele and Potter promising to return next season, it is
quite possible that whites could go 1-2-3 (barring injuries, etc) at the
next World Championships in '07 or the Olys in '08. Who knows what
else could happen the next couple of years, who else could emerge?
Things will get better.
Alright, enough boring you guys on this topic for now. Edited by: Colonel Callan
