Jordan Speith leads after the first round of the Hero World Challenge at -6. A great start for Speith. Looking forward to seeing him win a Major this year.

BTW, Tiger Woods shot a 77 and is in last place.

After 3 rounds, Tiger still in last place of the 18 man Hero World Challenge. I guess that makes him a zero, not a hero. Not surprisingly, it is reported that Tiger is ill and was vomiting on the practice tee.

I channel surfed to the Tiger Channel (aka Golf Channel) tonight just in time for Golf Central. The first 15 minutes of the show was devoted to the player in last place. Jordan Speith, the brilliant young golfer whose star has eclipsed Tiger's and who is a remarkable -20 after three rounds? Virtually no interest. I don't know how anyone with any self-respect could work for that network, but that's true of all the corporate sports media outlets.

Gotta admit though the coverage of Tiger was humorous. Apparently his chipping was little better than that of a weekend hacker. The hosts debated whether his problem was mental or physical but could come up with no consensus. Just watching their serious expressions of concern, there should have been a laugh track yucking it up in the background.

Speith now at -26 and a 12 shot lead over Stenson, Bradley, and Reed, -14. Speith putting on a clinic. Hopefully, a sign of things to come for Jordan this season and the rest of his career.

Tiger will finish in last place.

Spieth wins by 10 strokes. Spieth also won The Australian Open. Looks like an exciting year coming up in 2015, with young guys like Spieth playing well, McIlroy, and Patrick Reed just to name a few.
