Heritage Week

I was watching the Padres-Giants game earlier when the commentator announced that this week is "Heritage Week" in MLB.

Monday night is for the Irish. Tuesday - Italians. Wednesday is for Jews, Thursday "Native Americans", Friday is African-American night. And I believe there's a Latino day on the weekend and maybe and Asian night.

Er, what about Anglo-Saxon/British night? After all they merely founded America, built it, make up the bulk of its cannon-fodder, and believe they even invented baseball itself. But I guess that pales in comparison to the mighty contributions made by the ethnic groups being celebrated during Heritage Week.

Coincidentally, the leftist movement in America was spearheaded by these
groups--the Italians, jews, and Irish, as they formed the bulk of the
communist/union labor movement. Of course, the indians and blacks are
their pets.

Why not the Germans? If you look into it, they make a huge percentage of
the standout whites in sport. Babe Ruth was of German heritage.

I think we all know the answer to that question.

Because that would be too easy. Plus, of course all the "little people" could not feel good about themselves every time they mentioned their heritage. And would make it much harder to play the victim as well.
