The legendary BJJ pioneer passed away at age 95. The mestizo BJJ master hailed from Scottish/Portugese heritage & help spawn the eventual widespread popularity of this MMA mainstay via his sons Royce, Rorian & Rickson.

I was about to post his death as he is the patriarch of maybe the greatest fighting family in the history of martial arts. I'm not sure all of the Gracies are his sons, some are nephews. Or at least I hope they are as he would have been worn out with all of the night time activity...
