Hey Poop I posted the same link in one of the other political threads, I think it was the main Obama thread.

Crazy stuff isn't it? I had no idea Palin was the VP choice of Barack Hussein Obama!

That's a great video. The sad thing is that Obama does favor staying in Iraq and McCain is definitely pro-abortion.

Obama, like JFK, has become this messianic figure. The country has yet to recover from JFK and LBJ's walloping of Barry Goldwater. Obama will simply dig us into a deeper hole. Fortunately for the people of Illinois, Obama's half siblings aren't planning to seek office. Edited by: Freedom

McCain is not pro-abortion. He's pro-life and while I would not give him a A+ on the issue , he certainly has earned at least a B on it over the years and Palin is pro-life as it gets. Don't really know why you said he is not pro-life.

McCain favors abortion in the event of rape or incest. While these are tragic circumstances, the crimes do not change the life status the unborn child. It should have rights just like an infant. McCain would prosecute doctors who performed abortions but not women who sought them.

I have come to the conclusion that Chuck Baldwin is the only pro life candidate in the race. To be pro life, one has to acknowledge that life begins at conception and an unborn child should have the same protections as a born child.Edited by: Freedom

Freedom I totally agree with your pro-life position on abortion including the rape and incest part of the issue. However I still think that it is perfectly reasonable and accurate to say that McCain is pro-life, he's just not the idealist nor is he as principled on the cause as we are.
I also think McCain would have been crucified by the media if he had ever stated that women should go to jail for having a illegal abortion after Roe gets overturned. I am personally for doctors and women going to jail for a illegal abortion but the laws and attitudes need to change in the country before we ever get to the point where those decisions would be necessary or prudent. I am more about stopping the slaughter than I am about the punishment of those involved. However I do consider doctors who perform abortions for a living the most disgusting vile people on the planet and they deserve whatever terrible fate that awaits them before a Holy God.

Back to the Harlem video, don't want to derail the thread any further.

The abortion issue is a distraction. Funny how it seems like such a focus in every election and media debate. Most people I know could care less. Let Lashawnda abort - I say.

Meanwhile issues that really count like immigration aren't even mentioned.

Don't want anybody to abort, even Lashawnda as you put it. I agree with you that immigration has disappeared as a issue and so has national security, most people seem to be focusing on taxes and the economy now.Edited by: guest301

I think immigration is the paramount national security issue but there are other concerns as well. But I am in the vast minority around here on the war on terror and I would just as soon not get into a long debate on this thread about all that. Been there, done that.

For all the media focus on taxes, I have not heard one regular person in my many conversations talk about the difference in tax rates between the two candidates. Raise or lower 1% in taxes here and/or there - nobody really cares when both candidates are so inept in so many areas.

I think taxes are a non-issue now because neither will be able to lower taxes with the massive bailouts recently enacted. They will both say we can't afford it right now. But they will still double foreign aid and military spending though.

Taxes will quickly beomce a lugit issue if Obama is elected. He has already gone down from the people making over $250,000 to $200,000, Biden said $150,000 and Bill Richardson said yesterday $120,000. But if you look at Obama's record he voted to raise taxes on couples making $42,600. All of us will get soaked, not just the "wealthy". I don't think he wins though.Edited by: guest301

Re: McCain's "pro life" credentials:

Its an obvious point, I know, but Polscraft their image to fillniches and win elections (not that that is all bad).

McCain knows he cannot win by having a neo-con or a "moderate" republican as VP. Thats why he chose Palin (picking a woman also has a certain surprise and novelty value). The hope is that this would energize conservatives and trad moral values types---at leastenough not to sit out this election. Throw in a legit fear of a left wing type like Obama, and you have a decent recipe for victory.

More revealing about the real McCain on the life issue is that:

*he opposed Roberts and Alito for the supreme court, two candidateswho are considered pro-life, at least inasmuch as they are thought to oppose Roe v. Wade.*

Kaptain Poop and Bart, I know it's tempting to let Lashawnda and Margarita abort, but eugenics and genocide is not the right solution to demographic issues, cultural victory through morality is the only way to win. After all, look at the ineffective careers of Madison Grant and Lothrop Stoddard and Robert Millikan(I mean his racialist career, not his exemplary and tremendous Physics career.) Not only is it morally wrong, it's also ineffective.
I would support the sterilization of many threatening criminals but never because of their genetics. Edited by: Freedom
