Another new record for Cunliffe last weekend. I like her comment after the race. She sounds like Christophe when she said she focuses on winning and not on times!

Hannah Cunliffe, a freshman from Federal Way, Wash., broke the freshman class record with a time of 7.47 (record was 7.49) while finishing second in the girls' 60 meters. UCLA-bound Kylie Price (West Covina, Calif.) won the event in 7.45. The meet record is 7.19.

"My goal is to win and not to focus on time," said Cunliffe.

Suprisingly I have met Mike, through work, pretty cool to know his daughter is such an amazing athlete. I have lots of reasons to wish her great success.

I can't believe it's been this long since anyone bothered to update the Hannah Cunliffe thread. It's not like she's gotten any slower. Here's a video of her running a phenomenal 7.38. She finishes third, but it was a fast, fast race of all of the nation's best except national #1 Marybeth Sant, who won the other final.

Very nice run for Hannah. I have even higher hopes for her outdoors due to her height and longer stride. I am rooting for both her and
Mary too. They both are role models for any little girls that aspire to be great sprinters someday.

Thanks for the updates. I've been busy with the Euros and other things. I need all the help I can get on this track board. I appreciate all of the input from trackster, jacknyc, greyghost, and many other posters here. I think it will get alot busier come summer time!

Hello CF,

Like others, I too have viewed this site for a while and have to start posting when possible. After seeing the Hannah Cunliffe link, I wanted to say, I have seen her live. At the 2009 AAU Junior Olympics, she was very impressive although, she placed 2nd in the 100meters, I believe she won the 200m, It was nice to see her comeback in 2010 AAU Junior Olympicstowin both the 100m and 200m. I understand the posts about not seeing many whitesin the sprints and wanted to comment about the low number of white sprinters and their ability to compete. ( which I would like to do at a later time),However, she's not the only white sprinter making noise at The Junior Olympics. There's a young man, Zac Pollard, who ran just behind her at The 2009 AAU Junior Olympics in Des Moines, Iowa. After only being involved in track for 1 year,Zac made it all the way to the finals of the 100 meters, where he placed 6th in the country, sustained aback injury while in the long jump, or would have made it to the finals in the 200 meters. If your asking what happened in 2010? He ran and won the N.C. AAU 14u 100m 11.6(13 years old), 2nd in the 200m, and qualified forThe 2010 Junior Olympics, but chose to start his high school football career, where he is a halfback and SS.The AAU Junior Olympics start 1st week of August. All this while, I believe plays travel baseball and wrestles. I believe while seeinghim live, if he were to commit, and with a couple more years training could be someone to watch in track and field and football. He has the size(5'11, 180lbs., strength, 32 reps 135lbs.and speed 4.65, 40, 4.23 shuttle 14yrs. old)Here's the link to his 100 meter performance at The 2009 AAU Junior Olympics in Des Moines, Iowa. He's in lane 6, but you'll figure that out pretty quick who he is!

Here is an update on Hannah and it is not good. She was bullied at a high school practice a while back and ended up having
to quit the team. She still belongs to the track club but she isn't being allowed to transfer to another school. It is going to
court. Gee I wonder why they bullied her? Do you think it could be because she is fast, beautiful and intelligent? It's disgusting
what some people will do to try and ruin it for her. I'm sure it was probably racially motivated too. The school denies it ever
happened. I hope they win the lawsuit.

Here is an article and quick video about what is going on.

So I see in that article that she was home schooled. That tells me volumes about this young lady and her ability to succeed against the Caste System. That helped her flourish and nurture her athletic talents. Then she goes to public school and is stepped on and spit on?!?!

More of our young people need to avoid the ant-White, Marxist, diversity espousing, cesspools know as public schools.

I wouldn't make any assumptions about the bullying. The fact is, junior high girls are mean, mean. Heck, I'm a grown man, and I wouldn't want to have to deal with them. I think Hannah's parents should stick her back in school and allow her to sort things out. She's a great kid, but overly protective parenting can cause problems.

Anyway, she's guaranteed a scholarship somewhere. What's more, I don't think she'll fizzle out like some phenoms do. If you look at her, she's pretty much a perfect physical specimen. It's hard to stand out physically compared to other track athletes, but she does. I actually think that if she ever plateaus as a sprinter, she could easily make the transition to being world class in the pole vault. The single most important factor in vaulting is speed, and there probably isn't a vaulter in the world who can keep up with her now.

i don't know if this was noticed by anyone on the site, but two days ago Hannah ran a 23.54 in the 200-meters at the USATF Youth Trials. the time was good enough for #6 overall in the US this year, and took #3 at the meet. and it came with zero wind.

she also ran an 11.70 to post the fastest time in the 100-meters prelims (and 2nd-fastest overall) into a 1.7 headwind, before running 11.80 into a 2.1 headwind in the finals to take second place. negro Ky Westbrook edged her.

earlier this month Hannah ran a windy (2.6) 23.10 in the deuce, which is the 4th-fastest time in the nation over that distance regardless of wind.

Hannah got 4th place in the 200m at the World Youth Championships.
Her time of 23.44 is a new personal best!
It seems that she didn't compete in the 100m.

Thanks for the update white lightning, I saw this story about a week ago. She may be getting some grief because she did not not run for her high school her freshman year, choosing to run AAU and USATF and their was an article on her that year about what seemed like some jealous parents in her area. Hannah was getting most of the attention and it didn't go over well with some of the other parents.

I posted a comment on the story about Hannah and it has since been deleted. She is a wonderful talent and I hope we see her in the Olympics some day.

White Lightning, just in case you're wondering; an update on Zac Pollard 11.6 at 13 years old. He has chosen to concentrate just on football. He led the state of N.C. 4A in rushing his junior year with 3,082 yds/278 att./11.02 yds/att. Of course it has been a difficult road to earning a D-1 scholarship because of his skin condition. He has only has 2 D-1 FCS offers to date, Ivy League/Columbia and Big South/Presbyterian. I believe his fastest 100m was and 11.2 on a concrete track his freshman year at 14 years old.

I saw the video of that race a few days ago. I'm so happy for her. To finish as the 4th best at the world youth championships is quite an acheivment. Some people will say but she didn't medal. It doesn't matter. She ran great and with all that she has went through with the bullying and having to try and find a new school, she performed better than most girls would have.

Hannah Cunliffe is such a beautiful and talented young sprinter. The future for her will be bright. She just needs to stay focused and working hard to get better year after year. The competition gets tougher and tougher the older you get. Good luck to her next season!

According to Dyestat.com, Hannah Cunliffe has chosen to attend the University of Oklahoma to further her track career.

Looking at some of her latest times, she had a PB on 1-18-14, I believe in the 60 M indoor of 7.35.

I also see a wind aided time of 11.38, 100M last summer!

I'm kind of disappointed in this news. I was hoping she would stay close to home and attend T&F powerhouse Oregon. They already have 2 white female sprinters on the team - Jenna Prandini and Mary Beth Sant.
It would have been very cool to see 3 white girls on a championship level 4 x 100m team.
Oh well, I hope she does well nonetheless.

I have mixed feelings as well about her choice. She was bullied by some black former teammates before and she had to transfer schools. I hope the same thing doesn't happen in college. I would have been happier to see her stay in the northwest but I will keep my fingers crossed for her. They do have a quality track program. It's not the best but hopefully it can help her get to the next level. She is such a talent and not to mention a very beautiful lady. Hope we see big things from her. Great to see you here Carolina Speed. :clap2:

Hannah has transferred from Oklahoma to Univ. of Oregon.
She's off to a good start, running a 7.29 60m, which is among the best in the world so far this year.
Hopefully the coaches at Oregon can take this talented sprinter and turn her into one of the best in the country, as they did with Jenna Prandini.

The success that Prandini had there definitely makes me optimistic about Cunliffe's future.

Hannah Cunliffe was the fastest qualifier in the 60m at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Her time of 7.12 is the fastest collegiate time of the year!

p.s. that's faster than Jenna Prandini ran last year.
