Still hard to believe that Crouch is not in the NFL. He truly was a remarkable athlete.

The usual excuse was that Crouch didn't have a "cannon arm" like Michael Vick. It doesn't matter that Vick is inaccurate at any distance, or that quarterbacks are rarely called upon to throw 60 yard passes. If Crouch had the requisite cannon arm some other excuse would have been made up, because white quarterbacks can have some mobility but not great mobility; that, like running and catching the ball is something only blacks are supposed to becapable of.


Chad Pennington, Matt Leinart, Brad Johnson and Drew Brees don't have "cannon arms." Lucky for them they're not good runners or they too wouldn't have gotten a shot in the NFL.

I can't believe you're comparing those three guys to Crouch. His arm really did suck, I don't think he could even throw a spiral.

Actually, it was four quarterbacks who I said lacked "cannon arms" similar to Crouch. The year he won the Heisman, Crouch threw for over 1,500 yards on a team that was overwhelmingly a running team. If he didn't deserve a shot at QB in the NFL, then not a single black QB who ran a lot in college has either. But there seems to be quite a few of them on NFL rosters going into training camp every season.

He basically was a running back who could pass when he won the Heismann. No reason he couldn't run in the NFL. Plenty of black players get injured often and return to assume their roles as starters. Injuries will occur at any position.

Eric Crouch could have easily been a running back. He just would have had to put on 10-20 lbs. Maybe not even that. I've seen so many midget black running backs from 5'7 to 5'9 and only weighing around 160-180lbs. These
type of running backs are called scat backs. Not every running back is an every down back. Not too many of those.

Not sure why you would revive a football thread that's been inactive for 14 years to post non-football videos. The Miscellaneous thread or some other more appropriate thread would have been better, or simply start a new thread. Threads dead for 14 years with few exceptions need to be left in peace.
