Giambi should not have been honest. He should have lied, as did Bonds, Sheffield and the rest of the colored players.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Lawyers for the baseball players' union and the commissioner's office are discussing ways to bring about a meeting between Jason Giambi and steroids investigator George Mitchell.

The talks were expected to extend into the weekend and possibly next week, a person familiar with negotiations said Thursday, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the discussions.

Baseball commissioner Bud Selig said June 6 that he wanted Giambi to meet with Mitchell within two weeks and to cooperate fully with the steroids investigation. Selig threatened to discipline the New York Yankees designated hitter following published remarks by Giambi that seemed to be an admission of steroids use. Selig said he would take Giambi's cooperation with Mitchell into account in determining discipline...

Hang those who tell the truth.

Witch hunt on the white guy.

Actually, I don't feel sorry for Giambi at all--just another steroid cheat..
I'm
pretty sick of these guys white and black. He did admit to steroid use in
the
past.

The real question is whether or not all the other players who were caught
with using steroids in baseball are also required to cooperate. Here's an
interesting story:

Sorry about not hyper-linking--for some reason it won't work on my

PitBull,
They're all cheats, yeah - but I'm more sick of the double standard than I am steroid cheaters.

White Shogun,

I hear ya' on that one. It just makes it a lot easier if the white guy is
clean.

In addition to the above story, there was one on the number of steroid
cheats in MLB from either Venezuela or Guatemala this year. Turns out
that 35% of those caught this year are from one of those countries! The
story was on the si.com website for a very short time before it
disappeared. I don't know if I got to it late or what, but I wanted to post
it here. When you add that in to the MLB's spotting of training schools
everywhere but in white America, I think it adds up to something. If I
remember in the article, it was mentioned that MLB was lecturing the
young latins on what was legal and not legal to take--in other words,
basically telling the guys which steroids actually would work but were
banned (that's the way I read that). If MLB is telling these guys anything
but to eat three square meals and day and get plenty of rest, then I am
suspicious. I would think if you really wanted a true surprise test, you
wouldn't tell anybody what you were testing for, wouldn't you?

If Giambi is forced to cooperate, I don't see what the problem is. At first I
didn't like it, but I'm sure any info he gives them wil tip them off to
minority 'roid users as well as maybe some white ones. I wonder if its a
witch hunt like they have for Lance Armstrong in cycling now. I don't
know, but remember, steroid use is not only unethical, its illegal (and
potentially harmful) too. Giambi is/was a role model to kids because of
his success. I think its important to remember that.

All the "evidence" against Giambi is from the leaked grand jury testimony on the BALCO scandal, which was centered on the guilt of Barry Bonds, a guy who has been in the news lately for his assault on the career record of Aaron. There is no other evidence against Giambi.

This brings up some interesting questions. If Giambi is guilty, and he admitted during the testimony that he took steroids then what about Bonds and Sheffield who also admitted they took steroids during that hearing?

If MLB wants to persucute Giambi then they will have to face up to similar evidence against Bonds and Sheffield. Note that both Bonds and Sheffield have denied taking steroids even though their testimony was that they did in fact use "the clear". They seem to think that because they say they did not know what was in the substance then they are not guilty.

Technically there is no evidence against anyone since the grand jury testimony is (for now) not public record. The only thing MLB has against Giambi is his own "apology". That is why Yankee owner George Steinbrenner said that Giambi should just keep his mouth shut. And he should.

Why is he bringing this on himself? Clearly he is wracked with guilt and hopes to cleanse himself in some way by publicly coming clean. That old fashioned white-guy morality, it'll be the death of us. He has the right to remain silent what he lacks is the capacity.

Giambi cannot be "forced" to cooperate, since he has the right NOT to give incriminating evidence against himself. And in fact he is legally bound NOT to divulge grand jury testimony. In the end I think his lawyers will use that as a defense.

Giambi seems weak in some ways. He had a strange incapacitating illness for a while, he has slumped horribly at times in his career and he is making himself a target in this whole thing. He really needs to suck it up and STFU. If no one else is going to fry for this why should he?

Indeed! Jaxvid you have identified Giambi correctly, as a weakling. That's a prime reason the anti-white sports media are attacking him. He's like chum in the water off of Eastern Australia, and the Sharks are closing in.

IMHO, Negro players are now immune to accusations of steriod use. Bonds is being allowed to play until he drops dead of old age. Sheffield can do anything he wants. Only Whites now can have their careers ended for steroid "violations"

Technically Bonds has never admitted to taking steroids . He has admitted to have been given the clear by ''accident''.

Bonds has never admitted to knowingly taking steroids he is an ******* but he is a a smart *******.

Technically that is not true. Bonds has never admitted to anything. You are referring to leaked testimony from the grand jury probe which is sealed evidence and until it is released, just rumor.

But that grand jury found much more then what Bonds admitted to, a record of extensive cheating with HGH, steroids, insulin, etc. He is really guilty of ALL of it regardless of his admission.

But what is important to remember it is against the rules to take steroids at all, it does NOT matter if the person "knew" it or not, it is up to the individual to "know" what they are taking. Ignorance is no excuse in this case. That is why Sheffield has changed his story on his accidental use of steroid cream because he knows that his ignorance is no excuse.

The Olympics closed this loophole a long time ago as every cheater denied knowing they were getting steroids in their suppliments.

Bonds is only a smart a-hole in that he knows an excuse of ignorance is accepted by the public because everyone expects black people to be stupid. He knows how to play the race card, which does not really take any smarts.
