GGG VS Lemieux in play for October

GGG VS David Lemieux is apparently close to happening and set to take place in October.

Lemieux deserves credit for willing to fight the best, GGG, when others at 160 have ducked or avoided GGG for various reasons (Cotto, Canelo, Quillin, Jacobs, Martinez etc.).

That being said, I think it's a bad move on Lemieux ' s part. He's being lined up to get KO'D because he is not as protected as others at middleweight.

I predict if this fight happens, GGG KO'S Lemieux in under 4 rounds. I'll say round 3. You might say Lemieux has a "punchers chance" but GGG has never been dropped as an amateur or pro. In fact I can't recall GGG ever even being hurt in a fight.

GGG ' S better defense, technical skills will show and I think he easily knocks Lemieux out. He's too good for David.

Right BS2, GGG footwork, subtle movement and ability to walk down an opponent while having the technical punching prowess will be hell on earth for David. I believe as well that GGG will KO David inside 5 rds. I remember in David's last fight, the amateurish round house punches he threw that caught only air. He does that against GGG and he gets clipped real fast. And yes, David has indeed a great punchers chance to KO GGG, but only a chance. GGG brings so much more to the table. It will be a must see scrap.

I guess HBO opened their purse strings for this fight by having a 7 figure guarantee for the Lemieux camp. I still don't get this one as he is a long shot to win this fight and there are a host of paper challengers for him to tong on and ko spectacularly. Anyway I guess the only way GGG can get legacy building fights is on PPV as any name opponent demands too much money for a regular HBO fight. Hopefully this has a decent buy rate, so that future GGG opponents are willing to step up for big money.

Golovkin is exactly a machine. Golovkin has never been dropped in any of his pro or amateur fights, he has frightening power and expert technical skills to back it up.

Lemieux has been stopped before, and aside from being offensively gifted doesn't have much to offer. He reminds me of Arturo Gatti. Power puncher, but lacks the defense and technical skills to be elite level. Power won't be enough to see him through VS GGG.

I think Lemieux has almost no chance in this fight. Lemieux will get KO'd badly. The fight will play out similar to De LA Hoya VS Gatti, only GGG is better than DLH so I expect it to be more one sided.

Lemieux would have been better off fighting Andy Lee, Miguel Cotto, Peter Quillin, or Danny Jacobs. He could have won those. But GGG? He doesn'thave a god damn chance.

I just hope GGG gets the credit he deserves after this fight. Him, Kovalev, and Klitschko P4P Top 3.

I have been thinking about how this fight will play out. If I'm GGG, I will be careful and measured against Lemieux in the beginning. He must keep his distance by using his expert technical boxing skills and increase the power shots from a distance. I think GGG will end it in the middle rounds, by catching Lemieux with a counter power shot, lights out. However, with Lemieux improved boxing skills and power he can end the fight with either fists. Its a dangerous fight for both, but the rewards will be off the charts, winner gets 4 title belts, a victory at the storied MSG, and a huge fight with the winner of Canelo v Cotto. Big stuff.

Hey man, if you've never seen Lemieux fight you're in for a treat. Lemieux hits very hard, always comes to fight, and is always in great fights. He is similar to Arturo Gatti, if you're familiar with him.

I've been following Lemieux for years now. There was a time say 2009 or 2010 when he was "the hottest prospect in boxing". He was undefeated and won I believe all his fights by KO. If I recall correctly he was something like 25-0 24 KO.

Just as he was starting to become famous he fought a Mexican guy, Rubio (the very same that GGG recently KO'd in 2 rounds). Lemieux was winning the fight but seemed to get tired in round 6 or so. Rubio started landing at will and I believe Lemieux's corner stopped the fight in round 7 before he was knocked out. I think it was Russ Anber who stopped the fight. Anber is a hard core Quebec wigger and I can't stand him but have to admit he was intelligent to stop the fight when he did. He saved Lemieux getting knocked out.

Lemieux then lost a decision to an old C level Negro in a fight that I've never seen so can't comment.

Lemieux has been on a comeback for about 3 years now. He's scored some great KO's and is likely one of the hardest punchers in the sport (right up there with Kovalev and Wlad).

But you know what makes Wlad and Kovalev exceptional is that they have KO power but they also have other skills. Aside from his power Lemieux does not have much to offer. He's slow, easy to hit (Golovkin will land at will), and he can be out boxed.

This will be a very exciting fight but Golovkin is going to totally outclass Lemieux. Lemieux won't land any of his shots and Golovkin will land at will.

This fight will end early. Golovkin takes David out.

This is a mismatch.

Quebec always comes out with these boxers (Lemieux, Pascal, Gatti, Stevenson) that are supposed to be good but the reality is that theyre not.

Golovkin wins this fight by dominating, early KO.

PS) I've lived all over Canada and spend time every year in Quebec. Parts of Quebec are beautiful and the history is rich. But overall the province is a haven for Wigger culture, Jewish supremacists, and leftists. Don't have anything against David personally. Just the Quebec "culture" I can't stand. The city has a powerful Jewish lobby and the whites there often adopt a black culture.

BoxSpec - No, can't say that I've ever seen Lemieux fight, but I'll look for him on the internet now. That was an excellent interview. I saw Li'l Bugeyes and I thought I wouldn't be able to stand more than ten or 20 seconds of it, but he did a good job conducting the interview, and he did it without being high on drugs too for a change. And it's good to see a prefight interview with civilized sportsmen instead of shrieking ape-human hybrids for a change too. I used to go up to Montreal from NYC, but I haven't been there in years now. It was like visiting Europe, but the last I saw of it they were flooding the place with the ape hybrids, same as Europe now. So GGG is a killer behind that boyish smile! Like he says, "interest fight". Looking forward to it now.

Great win for GGG. It went as I expected, however, Lemieux was courageous and lasted 2 or 3 more rounds than I expected. Look forward to GGG fighting the winner of Cotto vs Canelo, but already those two are saying they will fight any one but GGG. Both know they would get steamrolled by GGG.

More one sided than people were hoping for. Lemieux seemed to be coming on and landing more in the last couple rounds but his punches didn't bother Golovkin.

Golovkin softened him up with his jab and mixed in some power shots till he broke him down. The same thing Klitscho does and gets called boring. I wonder why that is.

I noticed that Roy Jones had to nay-say Kellerman a lot during the fight. I had a family member who started to do the same thing when they had some dementia coming on. I don't think he needed those last few fights.
