I think GGG is too old and slow now, Alvarez is in his prime and at his best weight at 168.

Im a fan of both, but I think as a GGG fan this could be a hard watch, Im expecting this old, slow version of GGG to take a lot of punishment.

(But he's been such a great fighter with that power and granite chin you still can't rule it out him pulling it out of the bag)

Worried about how Triple G will hold up as well..

Will be interesting to see how Canelo responds after a loss!

I was hoping GGG would not fight in Vegas again, but it is what it is. This doesn't mean a lot but during the face-off, GGG looked to be the much bigger man.

Canelo and GGG fight this Saturday.
You wouldn't know it by the way DAZN has promoted this PPV. How do you get PPV buys if only hardcore fans know where and when this fight is happening.

Both fighters made weight and I must say GGG looks healthier at this weight than at 160. I suspect if he wins this fight he will stay at 168 as he must go through hell to make a 160 which he has been boiling down to since he turned pro 15+ years ago.

Similar to the last two fights GGG will be battling the boxing industry and PEDnelo so for him to win he will need to leave no doubt on the winner or another bogus draw or narrow Alvarez win on the score cards will happen.

Similar to the fight tonight I may not see this live as it's a PPV as my gray cable package might not have this live. So I won't comment on this unless I see a copy of it.

Both of them have very solid chins. Both have power, with GGG's of the more heavy handed variety. GGG has been hurt to the body in a couple fights. Should go the distance with the possibility of Canelo winning body shot stoppage or GGG pulling a Marquez-Pacman shock K.O. More likely just a hard fought UD 12 for Alvarez.

Don't respect Canelo for putting this off for 4 years. He is also waiting for Beterbiev to age out.

GGG didn't display anything interesting. Canelo constantly pushed the pile. I'm glad I didn't pay money to watch this snooze-fest, but I do admire the mariachi bands that earned a season's worth of money by strumming their ukes on the sidewalks this weekend.

GGG is absurdly rich in his home town/nation; it will be intriguing to see if he grinds out one more fight ingraciously. No super-credit for Canelo either, who ducked GGG for years. Go get your rematch, habenero!

I wish they could find a way to start these fights before midnight. It is hard to stay sober that late on Sat. night. Canelo won I am not disputing that. However, I don't see what the big fuss is with the scorecards. Canelo won the first 6 out of 7 rounds and I thought he won 1 out of the last five with maybe the tenth round even. They were no worse than the cards from the first two fights.

I thought Canelo won, but he became tired and slower in the later rounds, and so Golovkin responded by becoming more aggressive.

I scored it 115-113 for Canelo, the judges scored it fairly and accurately for once. I had Canelo winning 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. The first round was close but I thought GGG nicked it, and I had him winning the last 4. The 6th and 10th rounds were close, I gave the 6th to Canelo and the 10th to GGG.

Golovkin seemed to clinch whenever he could in the last round, perhaps trying to avoid a fluke knockdown since he has never been dropped in a fight. He seemed resigned in most of the fight but put on some good offense in the last several rounds aside from the 12th.

Rumor had it GGG broke his Right hand early in this fight? True or untrue? Canelo intentionally waited years before the 1st Fightto get GGG past his prime.

Agreed with the above poster "Freedom one" ...now Canelo will do the same to 37 year old Beterbeiv....wait to fight him when he's 40!

Triple G started slow. Thought his better rounds came late. Glad he kept it close and didn't get finished.

Yes Golovkin had to conserve his energy to cross the finish the line safely this time. The telling stat was he threw 300 fewer punches than the 2nd fight 4 years ago.

I had to watch a pirate feed that kept on freezing so I basically did house work and listened to the broadcast and only watched the fight now and Golovkin clearly won 3 rounds and possibly shaded the 1st and 12th so the scoring was within range. The idiot crew on the DAZN was nut hugging Alavarez all night so it made it seem like the scoring was as wrong as the Bivol fight.

GGG should retire but most boxers try and squeeze every last drop out of their career but boxing isn't tennis and the last thing GGG needs is to be rescued like Ali was by Dundee against Holmes ie Charlo or another fighter who couldn't beat him in his prime.

It will be interesting to see where Canelo goes from here as bogeymen are around the corner and it looks like he has peaked and is on the other side himself as he fatigued down the stretch for the second fight in a row.

PS on the under card Ali Akhmedov clinically out boxed PR whitish junk yard dog Gabriel Rosado in a supporting bout. He himself could be a possible opponent x fights down the line against Alvarez if he keeps winning and Alvarez marches on in the 168 pound division.

Canelo sustained a left-hand injury during the fight. Probably from hitting GGG in the hips so many times.
