I hope you're right about a big payday luring Canelo eventually, but it seems that will only happen when GGG is the bigger draw. He should be, if life was fair, but all these top-shelf duckers are making it hard for the average fan to realize what they're missing! I speak with the casual fan and the first thing they say is "I know of him but whose he fought that's famous?"
Ambrose you are right and the only other middleweight, as has been noted, who was this feared and avoided was the great Marvelous Marvin Hagler. The difference between the two was that there were fewer of these alphabet soup organizations and tweener weight categories for phoney champions to hide in. I've given my marketing ploys previously as to how he might draw the cowards out of their lairs, and you've given reasons as to why they won't work. His best years are now and at the age of 32 going on 33 - time is flying by. He needs a superstar promoter and it doesn't have to be one from the boxing World.
