I see the vikings are going to be bought by a black man. The confusing thing to me about this is he has bid 625 million for the team, and in a article I read about him he is only worth 400 million. Sounds like a poor business decision to me.

The team will have to bring in a
lot of revenue or this guy could go bankrupt. This will probably
mean no all black teams. He will also need some quality players
that win games in order to really stay afloat.

Forget what I just said. Read this:

"My feeling is diversity, in any aspect of life, is important," Lurie
said. "Whether it's players, coaches or management. Every organization
and every high-quality sport or entity should always seek diversity. So
there is no reason ownership can't have diversity too."

This is code for "get rid of whites", or possibly "get an all black team"

Enjoy going 1-15 Viking fans.

It seems to me that diversity for the NFL would be to play more white players.

Jaxvid, good one! It's the truth too. We need the reintegration of whites into all positions in the NFL.

I heard on a local radio talk show that he would be the poorest owner in the nfl, I Don't see how this deal can go threw he is only allowed to borrow 125 million towards the purchase. I can see it now the vikings will have dicks auto service on there helmets, and a add for athlete's foot on there jersey's.Edited by: cxt7

I am from minnesota and I can tell you that over the last decade and 1/2 (the green, moss, culpepper era) diehard fans are leaving the team and many (myself included) have even started to rout against the team. The great era of Bud Grant and Fran Tarkenton (the best running quarterback of all time) are a distant memory. I don't expect many Norwegians and true Vikings to be on the team.

I predict that the Vikings will be gone from Minnesota within 5 years.

The story found in the Headlines section is too funny.

Looks like Reggie Fowler's bio isn't entirely accurate. Apparently there are several factual discrepancies regarding his accomplishments. His resume has been embellished? Who could be resposible for such a thing? Oh well, in this fast paced world mistakes can happen.

I love this line from the story: The new sheet includes no little league mention. It also clarified his college degree. Where the original biography said Fowler's " passion for numbers led him to purssue a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance, " the revised fact sheet said his degree came in social work. End

Okay, so big deal, who cares, a degree is a degree, what's the diff. right?

In the past couple of years, George O'Leary at Notre Dame and some other white men were forced to resign when they were to have "fudged" their resumes. We can be sure that Reggie Fowler won't be held to the same standard.

Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney is looked at as an icon in NFL circles, and viewed as a hero in Pittsburgh.
Such accolades are warranted,to a certain extent.
He is also a very accomplished businessman. The posters at this board,I'm sure know all of this.
Did you also know? That he is head of something called "The Diversity Committee",a watchdog group that insists on the interviewing of minority coaching candidates,"even if they show no interest in NFL jobs!
When the Detroit Lions wanted Steve Marriuci as their head coach,GM,and former NFL player Matt Millen was fined $400,000 for picking the man that he felt was best for the job!

Yea it is called the "rooney rule" they were talking about it on a local cleveland station the other day. There report said they gave the bengals a extra draft pick end of third round when they hired marvin lewis because he was black and the T.V. sports guy was upset because the browns hired a black and are not going to get a extra pick.

Reggie Fowler is a compulsive liar about his own background, has been sued dozens of times for his business practices, yet still gets pretty much a free ride in a situation where a white man would have been publicly humiliated and rejected as a prospective owner and rightly so.But Fowleris being celebrated. You have to wonder whether these white media types are so filled with self-hate, oris it they willpander to any unqualified black that comes along that they can use as part of their crazy ideological agenda, or both:

Another Giant Leap for Black Ownership:

And of course Richard Lapchick, probably the leading professional anti-white sports activist, weighs in with his gibberish:

Replying to Kaptain Poop -- a proud Minnesotan

Yup, the Bud Grant years are a hugely distant memory. I feel your pain! The new Vikings have it all wrong. Indoor stadium, black dominated team, newcriminal owner. I remember when Osborn and Bill Brown were the tandem running backs. Behind Francis Tarkenton and Joe Kapp. And Paul Krause led the NFL in interceptions. And some characters named Lurtsema and Hilgenberg and Yary were blocking people. Yes, them'ns were the days. I even enjoyed the Wade Wilson era too. But the booby prize is coming, Randy Moss is being traded to Oakland.

Woe woe woe to the poor Vikings fan. It smells like the same stink endured by the jilted Minnesota North Stars hockey fan -- the greatest midwestern hockey franchise of all time, shipped to TX to sate the greed of its nasty owner.Edited by: Realgeorge

Roy S. Johnson of SI.com wants Oprah to buy the Vikings. I guess this is tongue-in-cheek but one never knows with a writer whose every sentencereflects an obsessionwith all things black. Note how he breezily brushes aside Reggie Fowler's many indiscretions, claiming that this lying, oft-sued phony is a "role model for any NFL player." Indeed.

Oh man, I wouldn't really be mad if a black person owned a team, but Oprah c'mon, that is hilarious!! They're just pushing affirmative action in anyway possible. I'd like to see some affirmative action on the field first!
