I have no problem with MLB being an international game, but the attempts to drive Americans out of the game by the powers that be have reached new levels. Baseball will never go over well in China, but the MLB head honchos will darn well make sure that no stone is unturned or rice paddy unexplored looking for baseball`s version of Yao Ming.I hate to belabor the point, but where is the similar commitment-or should be even a greater commitment since it is our game-of resources to promote the game of baseball among young Americans? I want MLB to look harder, first and foremost, to find the next Mickey Mantle, or even the next Andy Van Slyke. I`m sure my pleas will fall on deaf ears, though.
