Surely he'll get his shot in 2024, he's been IBF mandatory for ages!

Also his stock should go up Zhangs performances versus Joyce, shows how strong Hrgovics punch resistance is. He still beat Zhang even on his worst night.
 
Hrgovic won today by RTD 3 over the brave but limited Dave Allen.



It was a good day for Croatian heavyweights, with Petar Milas defeating Joel Djeko by KO 4.

Strange fight to watch. Itauma won every round, then suddenly collapsed. They had to carry him out on a stretcher.

This is big, as he was supposed to be the next Tyson.
 
It looks like Itauma did what he could do. He had to keep constant movement and take advantage of his speed. If he would have slowed down and tried to box, he would have given Hrgovic a chance to get set and begin to time him and land. Itauma gave it everything he had, Hrgovic's chin was the difference.
 
I agree that Hrgovic's chin was the difference, along with Abel Sanchez. I really thought Hrgovic would get busted up and stopped. He was in the best shape that I have seen him in, and I think his corner did a way better job than Itauma's. Hrgovic deserves the praise he is getting.

He finally became world champion. After all the years of hard work in the pro's. WSB and amateurs.

Can't say I always believed him, at the start of his pro career I thought very highly of him, but he was disappointing in the middle. His last two performances against Dave Allen and now Itauma have been very good though, I think Abel Sanchez is a great fit.

Even though Itauma most of the rounds (I gave Hrgovic 1 round and scored another one a draw). There was always that feeling that it was going to be different in the second half of the fight. You could see it coming. Hrgovic was gradually having more success.

Hrgovic's experience, pacing, granite chin and improved stamina were his main attributes to get the win on saturday night
