Favorite Rock & Roll Bands

[Extra Point]

I've been listening to some Paul Revere and the Raiders. They're a band that was slandered by the leftist rock writers for whatever reasons. They were called "irrelevant," by the leftists, maybe because they didn't promote the leftist agenda or because Paul Revere of the famous ride was a patriot . Last I heard they weren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame which is run by leftists.

I was familiar with some of their hits such as Kicks, Just Like Me and Hungry. But I started listening to a lot of their songs from their albums. There are some really good songs. I recommend listening to some of their lesser known songs. Here's two good ones to start with, Louie Go Home and 1001 Arabian Nights.

I've always liked the Beatles. I was age 8 when they were first on the Ed Sullivan Show and in my early teens when they broke up.

Others I like include the Moody Blues, ELP and ELO.

I like a lot of baroque (Pachelbel, Handel, Bach) and some classical (like Grieg's Peer Gynt).

one of my fav bands is The Bay City Rollers.....naw just kidding. I really like Slade, The Sweet, The Who especially their live at Leeds album from 1970.

Slade is really underrated. Quiet Riot hit paydirt with Cum on Feel the Noize and Mama, We're All Crazy Now, but Slade paved the way many years earlier. As for The Who, check this out. Take that, Lady Elton John!

I've always been astounded by this video. I think I saw it live as a kid. Somehow, I got to stay up for (((Burt Sugerman's))) Midnight Special; probably late-night after a basketball game at the local college. Not the same as (((Don Kirchner's))) Rock Concert, but still the same. My father appreciated a wide range of music, and my older brother introduced my to a lot of diverse sounds. I was a kid, but I knew who Larry Gatlin was, and I knew who David Bowie was. This sounded like it was from another planet. It was good stuff. Truly original.

I liked what Van Halen and Def Leppard did 1980-1982, but checked out when they went more pop-style.

I liked these bands in the 1980s:
Iron Maiden
Queensryche
Scorpions
Judas Priest
Dio
Racer X
Saxon
Accept

In the 1990s, the only rock bands I really found interesting were Dream Theater and Mr.Big.
Rock music sucked in the 90s. Whiny bitch-boys whining about life. No thanks.
I got more into country in the 1990s, like Colin Raye, George Strait, etc.

Post-Y2K, I am more interested in the big dynamic sounds of Trans Siberian Orchestra and and the Finnish band Nightwish.

not the stuff I grew up listening (I like a good deal of what was posted above) to but it would appear that the days of large stadium rock bands ended in the 1990s.

as a plus you can go see them for next to nothing compared to say Pearl Jam.
