Cecil Fielder gambled away all his baseball earnings. Now his boy "Prince" reportedly owes the IRS over $400,000 in federal taxes.

Ironically the son won't speak to the father, but obviously they have common ground when it comes to finances and baseball careers. Prince will most likely also have a short career like his dad given thatCecil was afat, one-dimensional power hitter whose career declined prematurely because of his weight problem.

Fielder is THE most despicable creature in major league baseball - even more revolting than Elijah Dukes. It turns my stomach to watch him. He gives an arrogant interview and has a smug official photo on the Brewers web site.

Fielder was on the tube last night versus the Baltimore Orioles. He is so fat that he barely can reach out with his glove. With any luck he will go completely bankrupt or be sent to tax prison a la Al CaponeEdited by: Realgeorge

Rick Dempsey made a magnificent comment about Fielder on today's "O's Extra" show on cable. It was extremely policitally incorrect, and will be interesting to see if he gets disciplined for it. Couldn't believe my ears when I heard it. Toward the end of the broadcast came the segment called "Keys to the Game."

Dempsey offered three Keys, and each was shown on the screen. One was something like "Orioles pitcher don't walk anybody." Another was "Stay away from the long ball." So far so pedestrian. Then the third Key was a question: "How do you keep Prince Fielder from scoring?" I kid you not, here is the answer, which he announced in his best Dempsey deadpan voice: "Put a cheeseburger on third base."

Honest, he really said that. His co-announcer busted up laughing. Will he get a blast from the PC cops?Edited by: Realgeorge

No, not for a cheeseburger. If he said, "Put a watermelon on third base." then he'd be in big trouble.

Normally I'd say what is $400,000 to a professional athlete but Milwaukee renewed his contract for $670,000 in the spring. I bet he's actually hurting because you know there is nothing left of that $2.4 million signing bonus, not with how all these professional athletes spend money.
