High school recruiting is at a fevered pitch and I had some free time today, so I compiled a list of the fastest white high school football players from the Rivals.com website. Most of the 40 yd times came from the Nike Training Camps that are held on college campuses throughout the U.S., so they are legit times. To qualify for this list, the player must have a time below 4.40 sec. Here is an interesting observation, of all of the players at rivals.com with a time below 4.40 seconds, about one third are white.

Brad Kanuch - WR from Pennsylvania, 4.26 sec (second fastest time in the entire US), committed to UCONN
Rocky Anderson - RB from Kansas, 4.37 sec, no Div 1 offers
Ricky Neaves - DB from Florida, 4.37 sec, only offer is from Eastern Mich.
Jay Faris - WR from Tennessee, 4.37 sec, no Div 1 offers
Riley Cooper - WR/DB from Florida, 4.37 sec, committed to Florida, he is a stud at 6'4", 208 lbs.
Matt Leemhuis - DB from Maryland, 4.38 sec., multiple offers, leaning toward Cal.
Cole Ivie - RB from Tennessee, 4.38 sec., no Div 1 offers
Jon Benson - RB from Georgia, 4.38 sec, no Div 1 offers.

No offers! Man what a crock! These guys would have a list 2 lines long if they were black. Maybe the Cooper kid will be a Corner or Safety for the Gators.

They should read the column "Race Matters" and pick one of the schools that Col Reb tracked as playing a lot of white players. Do they have emails listed for those guys? It might actually help to contact them.

What about Fischer Debarry, didn't he want to get "faster"????

Fastest white player I ever saw was Stuart Schweigert, now a safety for the
Raiders, when he was a quarterback in Saginaw. His junior year, he beat
Charles Rogers for the state championship in the 100 meters, this a few
weeks after Rogers was hailed as a future Olympic sprinter -- wish he
would've tried that instead of football!

3 white runningbacks all below 4.40 have no offers at all? gee i wonder why...

I found some more info on Brad Kanuch. He is 6'0" 180 lbs. His junior year, he ran for 1400 yds on 170 rushes (8.2 yd avg), 14 rushing TDs, 14 rec for 223 yds and 5 rec TDs, and 5 int on defense. In the state track meet he won the 200m and triple jump and was second in the 100m and long jump. Look out his senior year in track as he will probably win all of the events.

He is the younger brother of backup Penn St. receiver Jim Kanuch. Jim was also a very talented football player and track athlete in high school. I'm sure his lack of playing time is the reason Brad is going to UConn instead of Penn St.

Matt Leemhuis committed to Virginia. He should be a big time safety/corner at 6'2" 192 lbs with that 4.38 speed. Good luck Matt!

Someone will have to keep their eyes on Matt as he goes through the next couple of years over at VU and report back to us periodically.

That's a damn shame. These kids are faster than most of the RB in the NFL, granted they dont have the meat on them yet. There needs to be a film made about these kids and I plan on making within the year.

This is insane..... they should be picked up for sure... this kind of speed is too good to pass up.

they will end up having to walk on somewhere... I bet Notre Dame would give these kids a good chance if they tried out.

Would love to more details about that film alpha male.
