For what its worth, Wofford RB Eric Breitenstein has been named SoCon pre-season offensive player of the year. The SoCon or Southern Conference fields D-1AA powers Appalachain St., Ga. Southern, etc., but Wofford shared the conference title with ASU last year and Wofford is very white friendly.

Breitenstein, I believe was a player who should have gotten some D-1 offers out of high school, but received none.

With that note; I would like to start an all D-1 snubbed thread for RB's. This wouldn't be a slap to any other position, I like to use RB's, because of the numbers that are hard to refute as to why they aren't getting the offers. You could use other positions, but I would use RB's as the title.

I would only use players who have graduated from high school and are already in college or who have finished college. I know we have a thread for high school stars, but I think it would be interesting to see players from across the country who have been snubbed, but have went on to do other things, who knows, we may see some more Danny Woodheads!

What do ya'll think? I would start with E. Breitenstein, because he's from my area of the country and he's an interesting story I think the CF members would like to know about. If I get some response, I will start the thread.

Thanks.

I have been following the career of Eric for the last 2 years. He is an impressive runner with speed and power to boot. I think with a very good senior year he could get drafted. So start the thread dog gone it already.

NFLdraftscout ranks him as a FB- and he is one of the smaller FBs ranked by them. He's not even in the top 10 FBs. Even FBS 1,000 yard RB- Zach Line- is ranked the #3 FB for 2013 for Gosh sake. NFLdraftscout drinks the Rivals Koolaid. Their 2015 incoming NCAA freshman rankings looks like it was almost copied right from WhiteRivals page (too lazy to do their own homework?).

Breitenstein did not make the Carolina Panthers 80 man roster that will report to training camp in July. He was invited to Panthers mini-camp for 2 days, but was unable to sign a contract. Very sad news. Probably the end for EB who had a great career at Wofford College. He has said he has no interest in playing in Canada. He will take some time off and consider his options when he returns.

The Panthers did sign former Penn State FB Michael Zordich. Let's hope he makes the final roster.

that sucks, I liked Eric more as a running back, he was a good runner. Zordich got a few chances last year with the lack of backs, eventually they went with Zwinak which turned out tobe a huge success. Zordich is still good though, has a good deal of power
