Clattenburg has been cleared by the FA of making racists comments to Mikel.

I watched Mikel closely during the last Champins League game and all he did was jog around a little and occasionally pass the ball 10 yards to someone who can do something with the ball.

They have to import a player to do what he does when many English players could do the same?

Let's see how Benitez uses him.

i remember benitez at internazionale, he came after mourinho, and unlike mourinho, the number one striker for him was etoo: http://www.castefootball.us/forums/...lack-attackers?p=238436&viewfull=1#post238436

this might be worse than england: turk player faces between 6 months and 2 years in jail for insulting a black player!

http://www.google.com/hostednews/af...ocId=CNG.19a5f06becd20ab6e0f183d0b94b8247.771

ANKARA — Turkey international Emre Belozoglu could face a two-year prison sentence after Istanbul prosecutors requested a jail term for an alleged racist slur against a rival, local press reported here on Thursday.

Prosecutors are looking for a sentence of between six months and two years against the former Fenerbahce player, accused of racially insulting Trabzonspor's Didier Zokora during a Turkish league match last April.
The 32-year-old was suspended for two matches for allegedly calling Zokora a "dirty negro", becoming the first player to be punished under a new law aimed at ridding sport of racism.
Emre, who now plays for Spanish club Atletico Madrid, will be judged under a criminal code which punishes violence in sport including racist insults.
The midfielder apologised for his language.
"In the heat of the moment sometimes you say bad things. I used a stupid word ... I want to apologise." he said.

this case was mentioned here a few months ago: http://www.castefootball.us/forums/threads/14613-No-Matter-Where-You-Go-TNB

i'm not sure if we posted about it, but a suporter in england was arrested because of a gesture

Am I right in assuming this must be difficult to prove in a court of law?
Here's the argument about said incident:

'I was doing a chicken dance!'

The fact that this guy has to even argue his case tells you about the sad state of affairs in this country.

Arrests galore:

UK Teenager Arrested for Sending Racist Tweet:

Taylor Wants Standard Ban for Racism:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...-taylor-wants-standard-ban-for-racism?cc=3436

Here are the details of Gordon Taylor's "Six Point Plan":

1. Speeding up the process of dealing with reported racist abuse with close monitoring of any incidents.

2. Consideration of stiffer penalties for racist abuse and to include an equality awareness programme for culprits and clubs involved.

3. An English form of the "Rooney rule" - introduced by the NFL in America in 2003 - to make sure qualified black coaches are on interview lists for job vacancies.

4. The proportion of black coaches and managers to be monitored and any inequality or progress highlighted.

5. Racial abuse to be considered gross misconduct in player and coach contracts (and therefore potentially a sackable offence).

6. Not to lose sight of other equality issues such as gender, sexual orientation, disability, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and Asians in football.

But the choicest quote of all comes from the following story:

Lord Ouseley blasts Premier League clubs:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...d-ouseley-blasts-premier-league-clubs?cc=3436

According to Ouseley:

"When Rio Ferdinand was told he was not good enough, whereas John Terry went to the Euros, that hurt the black players the most. They could see nobody speaking up for them, and the establishment seemed to be looking after its favourites."

The above statement gives us an insight into the bleak darkness of Christmas Future: blacks must always be deemed "good enough", for if they aren't (add self-righteously wagging finger) that's "racist" and we cannot have that, can we now...

GB get the freedom of speech back it seems
does it means that people in GB will be free to insult blacks? so now suporters won't face criminal charges for throwing a banana on the pitch or insulting blacks?

A sixteen-year-old boy was arrested under the legislation for peacefully holding a placard that read ‘Scientology is a dangerous cult’, on the grounds that it might insult followers of the religious movement.
In 2005, an Oxford student was arrested for saying to a policeman: ‘Excuse me, do you realise your horse is gay?’.
Thames Valley Police said the arrest had taken place because he had made ‘homophobic comments that were deemed offensive to people passing by’.
Gay rights campaigners from the group Outrage! were also arrested under the Act when they protested against supporters of the Islamist fundamentalist group, Hizb ut-Tahrir, which was calling for the killing of gays, Jews and unchaste women.

The Muslims weren't arrested according to this though.

George Orwell must be rolling over in his grave.

Football fans are homophobic and racist says Clare Balding as she claims women players are more skillful then men:
Sports presenter Clare Balding has accused men's football of being 'racist and homophobic' - and urged viewers to turn to women's football instead.
The popular television personality slammed men's football for being aggressive and full of players affecting injuries during matches.

Ms Balding, who hosted the London 2012 games, said that women's football involved a lot more skill, which did not revolve around players punting the ball from one end of the pitch to the other. 'If you go to a WSL match this season, prepare yourself for disappointment. You won’t see any diving or swearing at the ref,' she said.

'There won’t be any racist chanting from the fans or homophobic abuse. There won’t be any hopeful hoofing of the ball halfway up the pitch and there won’t be any feigning of injury.

'However, if you enjoy a quick, sharp style of football, the kind that relies on skill rather than power, you will love it.'

i wonder if it has something to do with what bernard lacombe (2nd top goal scorer ever in the french league) said recently
while talking to a woman on a radio show he said that he would never talk about soccer with a woman, and that women should go back to their kitchen instead

When i lived in the UK Clare Balding only covered horse racing. I don't know what her qualifications are for discussing football. BTW she's also a lesbian.

She's a woman, as ESPN has shown us that's the only qualification needed.

There was a good discussion in the NFL forum about unqualified women trying to debate with former players on potential rule changes. Women overwhelmingly support rule changes which make the game "safer" and behave as if they know what's better for the game than the people who actually made a living playing it.

The 39-year-old former Tottenham and Arsenal defender, who won 79 international caps, including three as captain, said the Football Association and football fans are averse to the idea of a black or mixed-race captain for the full national side.

"I believe if I was white, I would have been England captain for more than 10 years. It's as simple as that," said Campbell in his authorised biography, which is serialised in the Sunday Times.

But the most hilarious part is:
"Michael Owen was made captain ahead of me. I thought, 'What is going on here?' I think the FA didn't want me to have a voice," continued Campbell.
"Owen was a fantastic forward but nowhere near being a captain. It was embarrassing.

today in england and france being a professional soccer player almost equates to being black, and they still have the nerve to claim that they are being discriminated against

Now,"English" Team owners cry racism!

"Do you think that Malky Mackay would have got us promoted without my investment? Without me giving him money? After we got promoted the fans were all very supportive, everybody was appreciative," he told BBC Sport.

"Overall, even now, I think, I would say even 90 per cent of the fans are supportive, the problem is you have 10 per cent or five per cent or maybe even a few hundred people that are not supportive, who are more vocal.
"And then you have the British press who have been misled by some people, feeding them wrong information and saying what a terrible person I am and trying to make fun of me and paint me like a villain.
"But my experience is the majority are very supportive. I go to the club, many people come and shake my hand, want to shake hands with me, want my autograph, so generally I think it is not too bad.

"I will say that the British press is unfair and maybe they are unfair because we didn't tell our side of the story that well.

"And sometimes the British press (are) maybe a little bit racist and quite unfair."

The 'English(-LOL) Premier League' hits a new low!:dizzy:

The fact that they are nowhere to be seen when the 'top players lists' are made riles them up!

The fact that they make up half the players(as it is in the French League) or a quarter of the players(as in the EPL) and can still make no tangible difference to the overall outcome at the top end of the league makes them hate themselves!:heh:

And then, there are the jews who train blacks to cry racism at every given opportunity.

Here is a quote from an Englishman on bigsoccer during a discussion of this. They started to talk about the Trayvon Martin case and this guy goes off.

Here is a white guy I think in England that says the below.

"Their problems are obvious. They're disproportionately poor, partly due to the legacy of immigration and slavery, party due to institutionalized racism across the board. All of the other issues you mention stem from this. For example, blacks and whites take drugs at the same rate, yet the drug arrest rates of black youths are much higher, as are the stop and search stats (that are supposed to be random). Why? Because the criminal justice system is racist. The theory that there's some sort of degenerate black culture that's causing all their problems is at best conservative fantasy, and at worst something much more sinister."

Who does this wacko care about US blacks so much? Maybe he is black, but I don't think so.
