Center.............. Brian Zoubek (Sophmore)
- 7'0" Zoubek is the only Center playing for Duke. With McRoberts gone they may actually start him. The coaching staff claims that he is the most tallented center that Duke has ever had.
Power Forward....... Kyle Singer (Freshman)
- 6'9" Kyle Singer was a five star prospect and should start at this position filling the void left by McRoberts. Unlike McRoberts, Singler actually has a very good mid-range jump shot so we won't see him acting as a center.
Small Forward....... Tyler King (Freshman)
- 6'8" Tyler King. This kid, unlike 6'4" Demarcus Nelson, actually is tall enough to fit this position. He has a good shot and was a 4 star prospect out of high school. Tyler King will also have to beat out 6'8" sophmore Lance Thomas and junoir David McClure if he is to start. Mind you Lance Thomas has a lot of tallent but King has the better mid-range and outside shot. An all white starting lineup really will be predicated on his performance.
Shooting Guard...... Jon Scheyer (Sophmore)
- 6'5" Jon Scheyer. Demarcus Nelson may be moved to this position if Lance Thomas or Tyler King prove to be more effective at the small forward spot. He will also have strong competition from sophmore Gerald Henderson. Scheyer was a starter in his freshman year and I believe that he will hang on to this his starting spot.
Point Guard......... Greg Paulus (Junior)
- 6'1" Greg Paulus. He is the only Point Guard and is a lock to start.
The Second String.......
Aside from the above listed athletes 6'4" Martynas Pocius is the only guy who would warrent good playing time. Being that he will be a junior time is running out for this kid.
Bottom line.............
Duke will have a much taller lineup this year but will remain inexperienced. Last year they started four players whom are shorter then 6'5" those being Nelson, Scheyer, Henderson and Paulus. McRoberts was their lone tall starter (whom was neither a forward or a center). This year I see them having a more competative lineup with King and Singer in the mix along with a true center in Zoubeck.
