Duke leads Princeton at the half 42-28. The game is on ESPNU.

They're darker than last year but with Singler, Kelly and the Plumlee brothers they're still White enough for the DWFs to hate.

Singler has 14 points at the half on 6-7 shooting

I saw the game, Singler (14 points) and Mason Plumlee (25 points) were both red-hot. Miles Plumlee kind of struggle though. Didn't see much from Ryan Kelly.

Duke blacks Nolan Smith (18 points) & Irving (11 points) were both solid too.

Mason looks the best of the Plumlee boys.

Plumlee was an animal. He's the best physical/athletic big Duke's had since Elton Brand, but Mason's taller. Taller yet is Marshall Plumlee, youngest 7-0 brother going to Duke, but he's closer to Miles. Tyler Zeller's younger brother, 6-11 Cody Zeller going to IU, is much better.

Still waiting on Ryan Kelly. He's added a lot of weight and was tagged as really improved over the summer. Duke could really use another big.

I've just watched the KS-Gonzaga game and I barely kept myself awake due to the depressing state that is Gonzaga. I got to see John Stockton's son, David, play he had a good game (7 points). He's got speed in his game, and his lateral movements seem good. Compared to Jerry West's son, Joni, David's got more game, and will definitely have a productive stint in Gonzaga. Oylnyk really struggled, he couldn't get himself positioned in any part of the floor, I hope he gets better as the season progresses.

Will Spradling looks really good, solid shooter who makes good passes to the post and perimeter. He moves quite well w/o the ball, his speed and lateral movements are really good. He should be a big part of KS's future plans.

Noter Dame trashes Maine 97-72.

I'm really hyped up about Notre Dame, Harangody has a successor and his name's Tim Abromaitis. He's got Luke's height and frame (6'8, 235 lbs), and he's almost got his scoring game too... 26 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists. He's not the rebounder Harangody was though, but he's really got game. Ben Hansbrough is the team's point guard, he had a good game ... 11 points, 2 rebounds, 9 assists. If hope he joins big brother Tyler to the NBA.

just a couple of fun videos to watch that showcase the talent of Duke's non-affaletic hoopers ...

Ryan Kelly is truly a big player! Coming out of high school, I hadn't realized that his basketball frame was "this good."

Sometimes, one doesn't really know until they see a player on the D1 level and can make a better observation.

Duke's bigs' put on a clinic against NC State! They were disruptive!

It would have been an even better "clinic" if they would have corralled some of the loose-balls that they mishandled (a few episodes of "bad hands").

This look's like Smith's team now. Part of the problem has to do Singler's poor shooting, and Mason Plumlee & Ryan Kelly aren't getting involved enough offensively.

Why is Kyle Singler so thin and gaunt now? Is he ill?

From what I remember, he wasn't even this gaunt as a true frosh. Whether his build/game can "translate" to the NBA - is a legitimate question at this point.

No surprise here, "street balla" Kyrie Irving is one-and-done for the Blue Devils, taking his Allen Iverson-like game to the NBA.

Irving has skills, but to me, is more of a solo artist, which will fit in perfectly with today's NBA. As for his one-year-and-out with Duke, I surmise that this was his plan all along. I wonder if he even went to class, or did the "Kentucky" thing and just signed up for classes, went to the first few, and that was it.

Edited to add: Good riddance!!Edited by: FootballDad
