As I'm sure you have all heard, Flutie was released by San Diego. With the exeption of Fran Tarketon, in my opinion there is no quarterback that has been as fun to watch. A guy who could run, pass, scramble, and win games. The biggest shame is that we never got to see him half as much as we should have. During the media push over the last decade for more "athletic" quarterbacks, Doug Flutie was repeatedly summoned to the bench for inexplicable reasons. Instead we had to watch hack jobs like Kordell Stewart, Randle Cunningham, and the current crop of quarterbacks who can run, lead the league in sacks, and can't pass. At 42? he is still a better quarterback than any of those ever were. Here's to hoping I get to see him play again with some team. Anybody else feel that Flutie is a caste victim in the NFL?
