Everyone knows that these days MOST black youth (that weigh in the area of 150/160) are now focusing on golf, spades, and Billiards. As even more of the black youth begin to focus on such sports I expect to see even less affaletes winning titles in boxing.

To add to that, when they announced that ALL the judges had Jacobs taking 3 out of the 4 rounds I was even more grateful for the KO. For I am not sure what fight the judges were watching. But it is apparent that there was a f*ck job about to take place if Jacobs somehow managed to survive till the final bell. Hell, Jacobs was straight up knocked DOWN in the 2nd. Of course sitting on the bottom rope was not considered a knockdown by the officials.Edited by: aussieaussie31

That's what we all agreed on before the fight, Pirog would need a knockout to win no matter what. Harold Lederman surprisingly had the fight 2 rounds to 2 after the fourth.

Thanks Parody for downloading the Pirog v Jacobs fight. I see great things for Dmitry. He displayed the swagger/confidence of the great Joe Calzaghe during the end of his career.

He is obviously a raw talent that will only get better. I had the fight even prior to the KO stoppage.

I had it even or maybe Pirog up by around. Even Harold Lederman had it even. No way was Jacobs up 3 rounds to 1. If it went the distance it would have been a robbery for sure.

Yeah, rounds 1 and 4 were close, 2 for Pirog, 3 for Jacobs. Round 2 should have been a 10-8 round. Steward tried to deny it, but I saw a GIF on another discussion board, and Jacobs clearly sat down on the bottom rope. Even if he didn't, I've seen refs score a KD when a fighter squats down like that.

Pirog is someone to watch out for in the future, very gifted defensively, as well as obvious power. Jacobs was a very highly regarded prospect.

Maciel turned out to be a more skillful opponent than most people expected, using a very tight defense. It took Pirog some rounds to fully adjust to him. But Pirog eventually figured him out, and dominated rounds 11 and 12.

Pirog won a comfortable UD. I scored it 117-110, including the point deduction from Pirog.

Parody how does Pirog match up with Sergio Martinez based on this performance? I could not get the streams or ESP3 to work.

Martinez would likely defeat Pirog, but it would be an interesting fight and there would definitely be a chance of Pirog catching Sergio with a similar punch that KOed Jacobs.

Max Kellerman praised Pirog on HBO two weeks ago. Would love to see him get on HBO to fight Kirkland or some other great black hype.

The very talented Pirog wins every round in a one-sided beating.

Martirosyan's corner throws in the towel at the end of the 10th.

from secondsout.com

Pirog Retains WBO Crown

Dmitry Pirog (19-0, 15 KOs) scored a 10th round TKO win over WBO #1 rated contender Gennady Martirosyan (22-2, 11 KOs) at the Olympic Sports Palace in Krasnodar, Russia on Sunday night to retain his WBC middleweight Crown.

The undefeated champion gave Martirosyan a steady beating throughout the fight while the shorter Martirosyan had difficulty finding his range.

Pirog stepped up the pace at the end of round 10 and delivered a series is unanswered punches leaving Martirosyan corner no choice but to pull their man out between rounds.

Thx for the update Dempseyfire, i checked a little late and only saw the decision.

I would like Pirog to fight N'Dam next and hopefully knock him out in France in front of his whole afro crowd. :icon_cool:

I'd like that too, but the cowardly N'Dam has been avoiding Golovkin, so I can't imagine he'll fight Pirog either.

I liked what I saw from Pirog against a tough C level fighter. He displayed good foot work, great stamina and ring generalship. I especially love his left hook to the body and head. He has great power in his right as well.

I next want to see him beat a top contender which I know he can. But I suspect, especially the affeletic types will avoid him. The sky is the limit for Dmitry. But at this point Sergio Martinez is the Man in the 160 lbs class. His next fight is coming up soon.

Just checked ESPN's boxing rankings. In the middleweight division, not one negro in the top ten, not one. Its seems that Dan Raphael knows who the great fighters are.

http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/pirog-ishida-undercard-results-114171

WBO middleweight champion Dmitry Pirog (20-0, 15 KOs) pounded out a twelve round unanimous decision over Nobuhiro Ishida (24-8-2, 9 KOs) on Tuesday night at the Sport Complex Krylatskoe in Moscow, Russia.

Pirog landed the better blows early on, doing most of the early damage with his right hand. Ishida connected with some nice combinations at times and was competitive in every round, but Pirog usualy did more en route to his third defense of the title. Scores were 119-109, 117-111, 120-108.
