YOU brought up Tunney and Dempsey and you have been proven wrong in that neither of them saw combat. Just admit that they NEVER saw combat .

Marciano was in WW2. He wasn't a slacker, in fact, that's when he learned to box, and became the armed forces champ.

Did Tyson at any point in his life ever enlist did Holmes or Frazier ect ? . No they chose Different carreer paths . And Norton was a Marine Holmes never served yet Holmes was the one who was victorious in their fight and who had the better carreer so a military record has nothing to do with how someone did in the ring.Edited by: fistfighter

Yes either box or jail-Frazier is doing okay-Holmes is doing okay.Tyson is broke and in debt instead of boxing maybe they should consider learning a trade. Mercer has to keep on fighting-Bowe has to keep on boxing. After 35 the guys should consider there future and health.Stay in school and in the words of Apollo Creed "Be a thinker-not a stinker".

So you nagree that a military record has nothing to do with someone's boxing carreer right ?. So you cant bring up if a fighter did or did not serve in the army since that has NOTHING to do with their boxing carreers RIGHT ?. And Corbett was a bank clerk nota banker there is a difference.

Mcbride dd'nt make anybody quit Tyson was just to lazy to give a damn at that point.

And this is a guy you admire?? He doesn't get the bum in front of him that he wanteds, he finds out he's in a real fight all of a sudden, so he just quits?

And this is a guy you admire??

He only went after guys who were afraid of him. Outside of Razor Ruddock, every fighter that actually went after Tyson beat his ass.

okay ff, my mistake. I accuse you of misreading and misquoting and you hold me accountable for transposing "admired" for "respected." Okay, you got me.

So then - this is a guy you respect for what he accomplished in the ring?

You respect a guy who quits when the going gets tough.

Here's an article from April someone sent my way. It's from Caste System propagandist Jon Entine's website and quotes Entine.

This paragraph from the end of the article sums up pretty well some of the anti-white double standards and ideology that undergirds the Caste System:

"On a different note but still in the same vein, is it wrong to root for a fighter on the basis of skin tone? Or is it, as Jeff Goldblum's character said in 'The Great White Hype', simply a "pride in one's tribe?" The impression here is that the latter is the more likely scenario, but white fans should be cautioned that a Mexican fan cheering for a Mexican fighter, or a Puerto Rican fan cheering for a Puerto Rican fighter is a whole different kettle from white cheering for white. Like the black comedian who makes racial jokes, there are double standards that we live with. It's just the way it is."

It's just the way it is."

And? Since when has 'thats the way it is' ever been an excuse for unconscionable behavior.

I wonder what Mr. Entine would say about the following statements, which use the same logic but hail from a different era:

Blacks sit on the back of the bus, because thats just the way it is;

or

Blacks and whites go to separate schools, because its always been done that way.

Make no mistake; I root for white fighters and the men with whom I watch boxing know that I root for white fighters because they're white. They'll all Hispanic, and they make no bones about rooting for the De La Hoyas and Chavez' and Trinidads because of race. I don't either. As a matter of fact, I think its mentally and emotionally healthy for everyone involved, but I'm no psychiatrist, either.

I dunno if this is good or bad, but I root for "not black" just about as hard as I root for white. The mestizos, especially the lighter ones, Sam Soliman who was fighting the other day (Middle Eastern?), and of course, the Japanese in MMA. Since they all are if anything LOWER on the caste-system's idea of athletic supermen, whenever anyone of them steps in the ring with a brutha, I'm 110% behind them.

Can I get a "me too, me too!" in there?
