Doesn't list him on maxpreps for 2010, yahoo said he has more yards than Berlin, but not by much, and his measurables are worse. Plus only 4 catches for 54 yards while Berlin has close to 200 receiving yards for the year.

I happened to continue checking players on this Louisiana recruiting site and about five or six players after Dillon Berlin is Garrett Banta, who averaged 11 ypc this season and ran the 40 in 4.31. Since the time is given in hundredths that would suggest electronic and not hand timing. Anyone know of a white running back with a faster 40 time? Banta is 6'1" and 185 lbs, an honors student, and a top trackster as well as football star but evidently no offers as yet. It must be his freckles.

to clarify for otherCF posters, Banta is a white kid. With that name you would think it was a black guy, I thought he was when I first heard of him a while back. I have been looking to find his defensive stats, because it says he plays cb as well, and yes I believe the 4.31 he ran was electronic but not sure.If it wasn't electronic then that means the slowest he would time electronically is in the low 4.4 range which is still elite for out of high school. He was close to the top in the state in rushing with a little over 70 carries. I think Banta is actually 195 pounds.

There is also a kid from Jesuit that is pretty shifty and quick. He was 5th in the state with 122 rushing yards per game, over 7 yards per carry and 12 touchdowns. Dylan Richard. Hes 5'6 and 160 pounds. That didn't seem to hurt Noel Devine or Eugene Jarvis (5'5). He could easily bulk up, and unlike many affletes, I doubt his height is inflated, but no schools are interested.

I think there have been a few white kids to run in that range this year. Someone posted about the fastestkid atthis year's high school combine which was buried on the site.Edited by: snow

Just a quick update here, so what does being the leading rusher for the SEC-territory state of Louisiana, with all of its "southern speed", get you? A position as an undersized battering ram! As Snow notes, the only offer for Dillon was from FCS McNeese State, which he accepted. He is listed as a fullback at 6'0", and he's bulked up to a whopping 205 pounds. Poor fellow must not have had any wiggle while amassing his 2,249 yards last year.
