Ronald Desruelles 10.02 it is the belgium record but they do not except the time everywhere.I don't know why.

I don't take the Mennea 200 or the Kenteris 200 seriously. With Mennea it was the elevation, nothing more to it than that. His 19.9 at normal elevation is the time I would put next to his name, in my head anyway. With Kenteris, the guy was simply a drugged up cheater. I ignore everything he did. He never goes faster than 20.8 or so without steroids, period.

I don't understand why there are not more europeans running 10.0 on a regular basis in 2007. As others have noted, european sprinters seem to be getting slower, in direct contradiction the normal trend in sports of athletes steadily getting better. I think it's one of the strangest things in sports.Edited by: nevada

Why bash Kenteris? He is less of a cheat than usa negriods. The guy won the gold medal and world championships. He also has a degree and a profession.He has a birth defect in that one of his legs is much shorter than the other and it was after he got proper treatment/ stretching/ lift that he turned into number one in the world in the 200M. I think he only took growth hormone and thyroid (t-3) no steroids. Plus he was smart because he trained to peak at big events and never ran in lesser meets.

forgot about Viktor Bryguzin (ussr) 10.04 with a -2.6 m/s wind. his time is one of the 7 fastest times of all time when you factor in the wind.

I think we should include Patrick Johnson of Australia with his 9.93

Why??

Because

1. he is equally Irish and indigenous Australian (remember Josh Ross is
half indigenous too and he's on the list)

2. it is quite a big deal to be the first and thus far ONLY athlete WITH NO
WEST AFRICAN ANCESTRY to break 10 seconds. That in itself breaks the
mold to some extent and should ideally help release others from the
racial stereotyping that comes with the short sprints

Borzov aside. But Borzov was another animal entirely. Borzov had a killer instinct and nobody could play mind games with him I recall Crawford talking about the warmup room for the 76' final he was the only guy he didn't play mind games with as he was in another zone mentally...

It's funny how non-blacks are treated like turtle-like beings when the difference between the top black times and the top white ones is a measly 2/10 of a second behind. It amounts to being about 2 meters behind in a head-to-head footrace. That's the height of a tall person laying down, and less than a stride for some sprinters.

If it was a defender chasing a receiver in football or rugby, it would be within diving or grasping distance for a tackle. Besides, most plays aren't 100-meter (109-yard) runs anyway.

The reason that there aren't as many white sprinters as before in Europe is
that all the white sprinters opportunities are being eaten up by drug-taking
blacks from Africa and the Carribbean.

Also, so what if Mennea's time was made at altitude? He had a breakthrough
race. A record is a record. It didn't stop Bob Hayes from his claiming his
9.95 as a WR. And Mennea wasn't a drug-bag. Edited by: PitBull
