The 2002 Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist will challenge IBF Middleweight Champion Sebastian Sylvester 34-3-1(16) next year.

IBF #5 Daniel Geale (24-1,15 KOs) moved closer to an IBF middleweight title shot when he stopped IBF #3 Roman Karmazin (40-4-2, 26 KOs) in round twelve of their IBF Elimination contest at the Olympic Park Sports Center in Homebush, Sydney, NSW, Australia on Sunday. Geale outworked Karmazin in most of the rounds as he consistently connected with accurate combinations on the taller opponent. Karmazin suffered a cut above his left eye due to an accidental head clash in round six. Referee Pat Russell saved Karmazin from further punishment at 2:30 of round twelve and crowned Geale.

On Aug 31, Geale is defending his IBF title against a negro, Eromosele Albert.

The IBF officials appointed to work the IBF middleweight world title bout between champion Daniel Geale and Eromosele Albert on Wednesday in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia are referee Tony Weeks (Nevada), judges Robert Hoyle (Nevada), Ray Reed (Australia) and Somsak Sirianant (Thailand). IBF Supervisor is Ray Wheatley. The event is promoted by Gary Shaw and Bill Treacy.

Another afflete bites the dust.
n his first defense, IBF middleweight champion Daniel Geale (26-1, 15 KOs) scored a one-sided twelve round unanimous decision over rugged Eromosele Albert (24-5-1, 12 KOs) on Wednesday night at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Albert relentlessly pursued Geale, but it was the quicker champion landing the cleaner and harder punches. Scores were 116-112, 117-111, 119-109.
In a clash for the PABA super middleweight belt, titleholder Serge Yannick (14-1, 7 KOs) stopped Jamie Pittman (21-3, 8 KOs) on a cut in round two.

Good Unanimous Decision win for Geale, i've only seen the decision and heard Geale's post fight comments.

Apparently, Geale had to bring the fight to Adama who was very defensive and the scorecards were kind of similar to his previous fight against Albert for which he was injured.

Maori/(white ? ) boxer Kali Meehan was stopped in the 6th by Travis Walker, that somehow makes Pulev's easy UD over Walker look better.

I watched the fight. Daniel won arguably every round. Not sure what the judge who had it 115-113 was watching :der:
 
I forgot this fight was even on - who fights on Wednesday? Whites hold all the belts and almost all the top 10 sots at middleweight.
 
I would say Geale is winning ... but Sturm has won some controversial decisions in Germany ...
 
In championship rounds. Sturm was losing till the 8th. Sturm stepping on the gas now. Geale gassing. Close fight.

Decision coming up. Close fight. Sturm might get the hometown nudge. I had it a toss up.

Geale lacks some pop in his punches. I'd pick Golovkin or Proksa over both Sturm and Geale.
 
Geale gets the SD! That is fair. Sturm waited too long to step on the gas.
 
This is a fair result and good for the sport of boxing.

Geale is willing to travel and take on the best.
 
Gotta respect a solid craftsman like Geale, but if I'm him and his team signs to fight Golovkin, I'm on the phone to Pirog to find out what training injury he had to get out of fighting Golovkin so I can pick a different one.

I'm a huge fan of Felix Sturm and in many ways I'm sad to see him lose.

But hey, nothing lasts forever, Sturm had great success and made some great money throughout his career, so no hard feelings on his part I'm sure.

I'd also like to applaud the judging in Germany. This is a fight which many thought that Sturm won, yet the decision was given to the visiting fighter Daniel Geale. This really goes to show how fair and just German Boxing scene is. Which is a rather substantial contrast from American Boxing scene, which has seen countless (and I mean in excess of 15) robberies against foreigners in the past few years alone.

So this fight and result is an achievement for fairness in German Boxing. Thats awesome.

As for Daniel Geale, good win, and he's a decent fighter but will get blown out by Golovkin, Martinez, Chavez, and probably lose to Pirog as well. Just my 2 cents.

Sturm was a great champion but unfortunately he will be remembered for ducking fights with Abraham and Golovkin. I'll also remember Sturm for his decision "win" over Oscar De La Hoya! His wins over Sylvester, Hearns, Castillejo were also good!
 
Geale must be an Abo in the same way some white Americans are "Indians." I thought he was just a regular white Aussie. He looks nothing like the oafish Anthony Mundine, for example.

Yes, I agree on Sturm. Good fighter, good career and I hope he can get a few more paydays before he retires.
