FYI, for all CF's. Did any of you Pennsylvania CF's know and I'm sure you did, 6'2; 231lb., Carolina Panthers LB Dan Connor rushed for 4,556 yds for 7.2 yd avg. and 77 TD's. His Senior year he rushed for 1807 yds. and 28 TD's.

Another I guess they found something about Connor that wasn't good enough to run the ball for Penn St.?

Looks like he could have been a Peyton Hillis type to me?

Paul Poz was also a rb in high school, setting his school's rushing record his senior year with 1500+ yards and 15 tds. I think Penn St has a history of recruiting White runningbacks and switching them to safety or linebacker.

Hard to say what they couldve been since no high school footage available and they have beefed up so much to play their position, both still have the speed to play rb, I mean that is part of what they do on the other side of the ball, cover backs/tight ends and stuff them on runs besides other responsibilities. I think Dan would make a better back than Paul though

Former PSU linebacker, Tim Shaw, was also a record-setting running back in Michigan high school football.

The “old school” coach, JoePa, swiftly and efficiently transformed Shaw (and countless other potential white superstars) into a more racially-appropriate version of themselves…one well within the “athletic limitations” inherited by their ancestors. In the meantime, slow-footed, athletically-challenged black bums like Tony Hunt were anointed as starters.

from rw:

Impending unrestricted free agent Dan Connor said he wants to test the market.

Connor wants to go somewhere he can lock down a full-time starting job. If he stays in Carolina, he'd be behind Jon Beason (injured reserve, Achilles). As a stout run defender without much tread on his tires, Connor should attract plenty of attention on the open market.

Yahoo's Jason Cole reports that the Cowboys have interest in free agent ILB Dan Connor.

Connor is a rock-solid player and could fit Dallas' 3-4 scheme nicely at inside 'backer, but it would be surprising if the Cowboys paid him big money with Bruce Carter ready to start next to Sean Lee. While the Cowboys likely have some interest in Connor, he will do better on the open market than they think.
