I downloaded the video from www.sweetboxing.com and watched it. It was a nice performance by Alexeev.

Bruwer is a tough guy who had never been stopped before, but Alexeev boxed intelligently and gradually broke him down.

The loss to Ramirez was devastating and then the KO by Lebedev was another huge blow. Lebedev, however, might be the best cruiser in the world.

From articles I've read online I understand Hashim Rahman is Povetkin's mandatory. WTF is going on here? After getting trashed by Wladimir Klitschko a few years ago Rahman has beaten a few C level fighters and he's in line for another title shot. Are they really serious with this?

The WBA is the worst of the sanctioning organizations. Most of what they do makes no sense. They haven't even updated their rankings for two months, during this time all the others have at least once.

Rahman hasn't beaten a single top 100 HW since he fought Wlad.

What the WBA should do is declare a final eliminator between Rahman and someone like Ustinov. They could probably put it on the same card as one of the upcoming Klitschko fights without too much difficulty, since Rahman's promoter Cohen works with one of the Klitschkos advisors (Shelly Finkel) and Ustinov is a K-2 fighter.

Rahman was a very good fighter but he hit his prime 10 years ago. After he beat Lennox Lewis he reached his peak. The next fight Lewis beat him and he lost to Holyfield, Ruiz, and Maskaev. His performance against Klitschko in 2008 was truly sickening.

How does Hasbeen Rockhead get within sniffing distance of a title shot(even a title as watered down as the WBA "regular champion"). I don't think Rahman even has a top promoter these days, I also can think of at least 5 or 6 fighters who should get a title shot before Rahman.

5 o 6? Try like 20 or 30! As Dempsey mentioned he hasn't beaten a top 100 fighter since losing to Wladimir. The way he fought against Wladimir was pathetic. Some of the DWF's are even giving Rahman a chance against Povetkin provided he comes into the fight in "shape." Yeah, I'm sure that will help him.

Here is an update from todays fights.

In a clash of former world title challengers, European light heavyweight titleholder Eduard Gutknecht (23-1, 9 KOs) outboxed Vyacheslav Uzelkov (25-2, 16 KOs) over twelve rounds to retain his title by scores of 115-114, 116-112 and 117-111.

It looks like Huck is staying at cruiserweight, at least for now. Up next is supa afflete Ola Afolabi. Povetkin gets Hashim Rahman.

[h=1]Huck to stay at cruiserweight[/h] The decision has been made: After careful consideration and joint discussions with Hall of Fame promoter Wilfried Sauerland, trainer Ulli Wegner, Sauerland Event general manager Chris Meyer and sports director Hagen Doering, Marco Huck (34-2, 25 KOs) has decided to stay for now at cruiserweight and defend his WBO championship belt against mandatory challenger and interim champion Ola Afolabi (19-2-3, 9 KOs). “I would like to immediately invade the heavyweight division, however I’ve been persuaded to first continue in the cruiserweight division,†said Huck. “That’s okay with me. I’ll cut everyone there to bits starting with Afolabi. He’s a strong man, but to me he has no chance.†Sauerland Event has started talks with Tom Loeffler, Afolabi’s representative, and will shortly announce the date and venue.
Meanwhile, WBA heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin must make a mandatory defense of his title against Hasim Rahman. A rematch between Huck and Povetkin, who had a great fight on February 25, could happen in the fall.

I thought this site missed a White Hispanic in Danny Garcia but it looks like he is probably a Quadroon to an Octaroon. His father who is a White Puerto Rican is a funny street guy and was hilarious at the Khan vs Garcia press conference.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=7ZrH8kEqCRw His father sounds like a combination of a PR accent and Drexel the wigger drug dealer from True Romance.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uQFm-Lfcqo

At the Stuff Black People Don't LIke Site, in the article about the Auburn shooting, someone called "Tom" just made a post in which he wrote that "there hasn't been a white champion in boxing since Rocky Marciano in the Fifties."

Maybe he meant white American heavyweight champion, but that's what he wrote.

I don't think they moderate comments there so yeah, some stupid comments and commentators after the articles. Trolls too, which might be the case with that comment.

It looks like Vitali still wants to fight. He has slowed down some but can still fight at a high level. I just hope he doesn't give David Haye a fight which is what the loudmouth is waiting for. It's a huge payday for the non deserving Haye.
Boxing News
[h=1]Vitali says he’s not retiring[/h] WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has denied reports that he announced his retirement Monday at a press conference in Donetsk, Ukraine. “I am in the pre-election tour of Ukraine, so coming to the Donetsk region is not exactly in order to complete my career,â€￾ said Vitali on the Klitschkos’ Facebook page. “I’m a little bit tired of the question ‘when will it happen?’ I’ve repeatedly stated that when such a decision is made I’ll be sure to announce it at a separate press conference. And for now there is no talk about the end of my career. I’m sorry if I didn’t put enough emphasis on this at the news conference in Donetsk, which is quoted in the media.â€￾

They're serious in that the fight happens September 29th. Otherwise, Rahman has done nothing to deserve a shot at the WBA "kiddie belt". This sort of BS is why I don't care that much about the belts anymore.

Yep - Gradovich nearly got screwed as he dominated the whole fight.

Featherweight is loaded so hope he can get some big fights.

I think the 50 Cent effect was a factor in the scoring. With a known promoter behind Dibb I wouldn't be shocked to see judges giving tight rounds to the house fighter. Boxing has always had a shady history of house fighters getting the benefit of the doubt in close rounds. :frusty:

Uzbek Bahodir Mamdjonov won a vacant interim belt at lightweight. Technically Uzbeks are Eurasian but former WBA Ruslan Chagaev dubbed himself as White Tyson so you know what he felt about his racial identity. Here is an image of the new interim champion.....http://vk.com/id177483553?z=photo177483553_285812078/album177483553_0/rev Ps. He knocked out a White Cuban for the interim belt.....
