Every once in a while I come across a really shocking, disgusting, gruesome murder and this is one of those occasions;
A man was randomly attacked on a subway train in Edmonton, Canada, and despite the fact that about 20 bystanders (men and women) were on the same car as him and could have prevented his death.
People were intimidated and nobody intervened in the attack to try and stop it. The man was brutally beaten, punched, kicked in the head for about 8 or 9 minutes before the suspect was apprehended.
The attack appeared to be completely random.
The victim died about 3 hours later in hospital, from severe brain injuries. Essentially, he was beaten to death by the attacker's bare hands.
Here is a picture of the victim, 27 year old Johnny Hollar:
Ive searched allover the internet, and I haven't been able to find a picture of his killer, but he is named as "Jeremy Newborn" age 29, of Edmonton, Alberta.
Its been over one week since the murder took place, and
I still haven't seen a picture or physical description of the suspect.
I find it very strange the media hasn't released a photo of the suspect even up to 8 days after the murder.
It is possible the killer is white, but I doubt that and my gut feeling is that the killer is black, in fact that is the first thing I thought when reading this story. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so.
RIP to the Victim, truly a sad case, and its probably the most brutal murder Ive heard of in a very long time.
Personally, Ive spent about 5 years of my life in boxing gyms as a teenager, Ive had a couple of amateur boxing fights, and Ive sparred atleast 1,000 rounds in my life. So, I have a decent handle on self defense. I am 160 pounds, 5'9", so I can be outsized. But in terms of fighting ability I can definitely fight a lot better than the average guy.
Thats important. When you read stories like this you understand why SELF DEFENSE ABILITY is important.
Could have saved his life if he knew how to box or wrestle.
